Cannot Join The Thieves Guild!!

Like the titlte says, I can't Join The Thieves Guild. I am Archmage in the Mages Guild, Guardian in the Fighters Guild (I'm at the "Kill the Thieves Guild Bosses" mission from Sjoring Hard-Heart in Vivec but haven't taken the mission yet since I would like to do the Thieves Guild missions). I'm also in the Imperial Legion. I spoke with pretty much all of the characters that should allow me to join but everytime I try, since pretty much the begginning of the game, they ll tell me the same thing: "We have our standarts, Nord, and you do not meet them."

What can I do?

I daresay you did the Sottilde's code book quest for the fighters guild. Therefore you can't join the theives...

Do you mean the quest where I have to kill the Thiéves Guild Masters? If so then no I didn't. I even took care to restart at the last time saved to not have the mission taken. I was refused a longer time before, much earlier in the game. I first thought I had to go up level in certain attributes but now I'm almost at a 100 everwhere and they still won't take me. Anyone can help?

He's talking about where you have to acquire a certain item from the Thieves Guild for the Fighter's. Highlighting Greg's post will reveal the item in question.
You might want to check the Morrowind Side Quest Walk through here at Game Banshee, that should explain it in more detail. Or.. try punching in the name "Sottilde" into the search engine.
