Trouble with multiple-target spells

When I'm using a spell that has multiple targets, and I don't use the full number of targets, I can't get to the green "go" button without losing all of my target locks. I've noticed this consistently with haste and chain lightning. Is there a trick to making this work? is this a bug? Playing with the second atari patch.

The best thing to do is press the space bar when you have all of your targets, which functions like the "Go" button ALL THE TIME.
