trouble with logbook & quests!!

Problems with logbook & quests Help!
I have finished the poisoned sheep quest and finished up with blackjay but the quest is still listed as active in the log book and I also finished the quest for the head cleric (found his thing at the meadows) went thru all the dialog with him (he thanked me and such) but again the quest is still listed as unfinished in the log book. Help!!

Traveled to Nulb and received new quests, the log book flashed to say new info was in but alas no nulb quests are in the log book? Help!!

One pirate gave me a quest to kill a giant gar, killed the fish took the head back to him and all he keeps tryning to do is still send me on the quest?? Help!!

The game is patched with the 2.0 patch and the circle of 8, 3.03 patch.
