That's typical game industry slang for "being pretty darn finished" but not yet released. Gold is a good indication of when we'll be seeing a game - right now I think ToEE is slated for Sept 23 (thank you, Tim Cain).

my own two cents

I believe the term "gone gold" means that the game is complete and cds are being mass produced for retail sales.

Yeah, ToEE is starting to sound like something nice. I'm considering buying it at this point. It sounds like there's going to be enough to the gameplay to really attract me to it.

You should all check out the greyhawk_walkthrough video on www.greyhawkgame.com

It is zipped at 92MB, but it is certainly worth the time to download. It shows an actual gameplay demonstration and it really looks great!

I can't wait for the release and have already ordered the game, and I don't think this one will be a disappointment in any way, shape, or form.

What is the deal now?

Because fable appears to be all-knowing on this subject, I will ask here...

I have seen a number of listings showing the ToEE game coming out on the 16th now. Is this the truth? What is going on now? If it is coming out tomorrow, I guess I will have to re-arrange the funds... ouch... but I want to check out this game asap.

fable is on vacation right now, and so I guess I'll lend a hand.

Yes, that is the current due date. It is in the latest news on various sights including the link that Artimus provided.

In stores in the midwest on wednesday, confirmed! This game looks awfully fun. Hopefully, the game is as open ended as advertised.

As well, I hope there's a lot of personality put into their NPC's. I'm not too keen on making a party of 5 and adding a couple of hirelings. That's cool if they want their share of the loot but they ought to add sufficient interaction.

That is the case...

From what I have read, They put a lot of time into the NPC's on this one, that is why I am so excited for it. I like a little personality!

By the way, thank you Galuf...

I too saw the confirmation of Sept. 16 on the games official... can't wait for tomorrow. see ya...

Just received my $50 birthday check from good old mom. Sounds like it is going to be spent quickly. I am going to get this game right away. I watched the playtest demo video - and it looks good to me.

Lets keep our fingers crossed character and party interaction are more like BGII than IWDII.

smass you lucky dog...

Smass, I wish I had a birthday coming up... I was just talking to my friend about how I havent bought a console game in so long b/c I have had to get so many PC games. I am going to have to wait until Friday to get this one, that is when I get paid. I am heading to my friends store to check out the game either today or tomorrow though. A little test drive, if you will...
