Sorcerer cant reach level 10

I have a sorcerer level 9 with the level up option.
Charisma is 20 (incase this matters) because 18 + 2 during level ups.

When I go to level up It wont finish becuse it is allowing me to have 10 0th levle spells and there are only 9

Becuse I cannot fill the blank spot on the additional spell list it wont allow me to finish.

I have tried many variations of heightening or removing all heightening spells to fix it but it does not help. (a stab in the dark)

Does anyone have any thoughts...is this a bug ?

I have tried patching with co8 and original patches and it does
not fix it.

do you use the ATARI *and* the Co8 patch ?


...having installed them I had no problems to level my sorc up to level 10 - even with CHA 26 (18 - +2Att. - Cloak+6) !

Unfortunately, it probably won't do much to solve your problem, but at least you know you're not crazy...

Looks like a bug pre patches thats result does not get fixed by the patches because the sorcerer already has too many 0 level spells from a previous level up and so the level up to 10th adds 1 more....presto can learn 10 and their are only 9 spells.

I'm not going to bother to try and work it out if it appears to work in later patches...

A shame to scap a fine Socerer that way though....

I've heard of this before, but somehow the Sorcerer in my party never had problems like this when he reached level 10. I suppose it really is isolated in its occurences.

According to the manual & the 3.5 rules a sorc. lvl 10 should only know 9 lvl 0 spells, and in TOEE there are only 9, so you shouldn't have these problems.

But a similar thing occured once with me because i use the "Heighten" effect on all my spells. Sometimes then you can "exchange" spells when level up. ( a bug in the level screen, only). I fixed it by returning to an earlier save and removing all Heighten effects. My sorc. always take Heighten spell and i've never had this problem since installing alll patches.
