Newbie needs advice

Hello guys (and gals). I just bought and started playing ToEE and wanted to ask few questions. First of all what level is a 4 char party going to be in the end (I know that it's capped at 10)? I have exp cap remover installed so if anyone has experience about this fact I would be glad to know. I would also like to know how 3.5E rules are different from 3E cause I don't have the rulebooks and ToEE doesn't really tell me anything. You don't have to tell me all the rules just tell me if something is changed a lot. ToEE has a crappy user interface and has a lot of bugs even after I have installed the official updates and a few misc bugfixes. Still I got in a good roleplay feeling when I really got deep into this game after playing for few hours. Hope it will be as good experience as IWD2 Oh yeah and thanks Galuf for advertising this game on IWD2 forum cause I wouldn't have bought it otherwise.

With a 5 player party with no NPCs, I wind up at only 12-13th level by the end. A 4 player party might go to 13 or 14, but probably not much higher than that, at least not without artificially altering your experience, or using a patch that adds more and/or harder monsters.

As for the rules changes, there are many, as I understand it, but I can't give specifics, having never played 3.0. Here's a link to the SRD for 3.5:

As for your complaints, I guess the interface is a preference thing, because I really like it, myself. What bugs are you referring to, exactly, and what patches are you running?

the newest patch (3) is useless.

i advise using the 2nd patch and the latest Co8 fanfix

Thanks a lot for the info. I installed the Co8 fanfix. It didn't say if I had to start a new game for it to work but I continued the old one. There are still some bugs but I think I will be able to enjoy the game. Do you know where I could get more/harder monsters for the game as Lord Plothos said? I didn't read the 3.5E rulesets cause I have never read any rulesets so I don't know how they are different. But thanks anyways.

If you want harder monsters, poke around at co8.org. People there are abreast of all the latest mods. Someone named Livonya has been working on a mod including much harder enemy AI, which sound interesting, but it's not ready for release yet. She says around the 5th is her target at the moment.
There's also something called the arena of heroes or something, which may float your boat. You could google that or ask at co8. Sorry I can't be more help.
