Fragarach

does anyone know where to get the FRAGARACH?

i wanted to try to solo with a socerer that is chaotic good but i dont know where to get this sword

Prince Thrommel carries Fragarach and the only way to get it is to kill him or let him get killed and take it. He's in the Temple dungeon - level 3 I think.

how do u "let him get killed"? let him join u?

Yep he is on the 3 level behind a secrete door...let him join you then send him in to battle and let him die, not the GOOD thing to do, But what the heck it works and is the easiest..

Exactly - although you could kill him yourself, too. I like helping him out though - and Scather is a great sword, too (it's what you get for freeing him), and I personally prefer the weapons I have my mage craft to Scather and Fragarach, so I help him not for the sword(s), but for the warm fuzzy feeling I get inside...

well i got two saved games and got both and i only see a difference in damage and it looks like the Scather is more powerful

Here's info on the two swords I got from the Atari forum:

{4016}{Scather is a magic bastard sword that is both Chaotic and Holy. If the wielder is non-evil, Scather never misses and adds +4 to damage (doubles to +8 if the target is evil and the wielder is CN, CG, or NG. Finally, for CG wielders, Scather provides free unlimited Attacks of Opportunity against any opponent making a melee attack against the wearer (and CN wielders get one free such AoO per round).}

..which makes them the exact same sword, even though I had always been under the impression that Fragarach was supposed to be more powerful.

Go figure.

Edit: BTW, I checked them in-game, and both swords really are exactly the same, except Fragarch is gold and Scather is blue.
