Titan Quest - Fatal Error

Hi!
Carol here. I have installed Titan Quest with no problem. When I try to play the game, I get a Fatal Error Message - "The current system does not meet the minimum graphics card specifications and will be unable to run Titan Quest. Please udate the system before attempting to run again."
My computer meets the minimum requirements for this game. I have a Radeon x300 128mb PCE Express Video Card and 512 mb's of RAM. My PC guy updated Direct X to DX10 and downloaded the latest drivers for my computer this morning. I still get the error message. Can anyone help me? I really want to get started on this game.
Thanks.
Carol

What OS are you running on? Because DirectX 10 is only meant for Windows Vista.

Correction, Direct X10 can only BE run on vista. This person has Windows Vista thus why it doesn't work. Nothin you can do really, Mammu, other than wait for a patch from either windows or Titan Quest for compatibility.

Titan Quest - Fatal Error

Hi!
I have an XP OS. The game wouldn't start playing using Direct X9 either. I really hate paying $50.00 for a game and can't even start playing it even though I have all the minimum requirements. Any other suggestions?
Carol

The reason why I asked that question was because Mammu mentioned that he got a technician to install DirectX 10 for him so I assumed that he isn't running Windows Vista because if he is running Windows Vista, he wouldn't have needed to get someone else to install DirectX 10 since it is bundled together with Windows Vista.

Have you tried any other games to see whether they are playable or not? Try to update your DirectX (link) and see whether it will help or not.

Titan Quest - Fatal Error

Hi!
I have played other games without any problems. I just finished Neverwinter Nights 2 and Gothic 3 with no problems with them. I installed Arx Fatalis yesterday and am having no problems. So I can install and play other high end games. There must be some kind of compatability problem with Tital Quest. I really want to play this game. By the way, I am a she and not a he.
Thanks, guys!
Will let you know if I find out anything else. I appreciate any help you can give me. If you have any more suggestions, let me know, OK?
Carol

I have no idea why it's not running, but first things first, you need to get rid of DirectX10. System Recovery if you have to, DX10 won't work on your copy of XP, it simply cannot run on that operating system and you're computer is going to recognize it has not having any sort of DirectX installed, period.

If that doesn't work, I have no idea. You're graphics card is fine, as is everything else.

Tital Quest - Fatal Error

Hi!
Carol here. Just to let you know that all I had to do was install the latest patch for this game to get it to work. Maybe someone can explain why that is. By the way, Direct x10 did not download to my computer so I still have Direct x9. Since I have started playing this game, I really love it so far. The only drawback is that when quitting and starting again the game goes to the last Rebirth Station and all the monsters have respawned. But that gives me more experience, right? Anyway, very good game so far.
Thanks for your advice.
Carol

Help Please

I am facing the same problem that Mammu faced in regards to Titan Quest. Mammu, could you please tell me where you got the patch that allowed you to play the game on Windows Vista. Thank you.
