If you explain your installation in detail, perhaps somebody can help. That means, the amount of RAM you have, your video card, your CPU. For starters.

I'm moving this to Tech Support, in any case, but leaving a redirect, just in case somebody might be able to help in the Oblivion forum.

In the future, please consider titling your thread with something that bears a resemblance to its contents, too. Might draw in more readers, that way.

Hit Start >>> Run >>> type in "Dxdiag" without quotes.

Type out everything under System Information.
Then Hit the Display tab, and type out everything under Device.

Yeah, your system can't run oblivion at all.

You need at least 512 Megs of ram, you have 256. You need at least an Nvidia FX 5500, you don't even have a dedicated card. And you also need to have at least 2.0 GhZ processor, you have a 1.5.

Now, I don't mean for any of that to be insulting, but in all honestly, it's gonna take you at least a good 400-500 bucks to make your system play oblivion. And even then, it's not going to look anything like the original oblivion game (Dunno how much you like graphics).

(Note: The system requirements may differ, but this is from personal experience that this is in reality the bear minimum.)

Siberys is correct. I would suggest, however, that you consider buying Morrowind, instead. It's the predecessor to Oblivion, and in the opinon of many people who have played both, the superior of the two. With 256 MB RAM, you can not only play Morrowind, you can run many mods made for the game simultaneously.

Just a thought.

With just a 64MB display card are you sure it will run Morrowind with all all the mods Fable? I seem to recall having to upgrade to a 128MB card back when I first got the game, despite minimum specs being only 32MB.

PS I Googled the model number, it would seem it's a laptop, which if true is also somewhat problematic.

Morrowind should work with a 64 MB card, Galraen, but you're right in that there are several factors involved. I ran it with a 64 MB card when I first got it, and my bottleneck was in memory, where I had only 128 MB RAM. When I upgraded the RAM but left the card alone, it ran like a dream.

But on a laptop...no guarantees. Still, it should work.

Murad, you should consider posting your specs in the Morrowind forum, if you become intersted at all in that game. Should be somebody around who's expert enough to help you with this.

As for gameplay of Oblivion on the PS3: I don't think there are many people here who have done that. Personally, I'd suggest putting Oblivion aside, perhaps for another day when you do a heavy upgrade to your system, or purchase a new one. Sorry.

I was more concerned about some of the mods Fable, ome of them really ramp up the resources drain.

As for Oblivion, no chance of it running on that system.

Depends on the mods, and most of them go for system RAM, not video card memory. With 8000+ Morrowind mods out there, there's an excellent selection to suit all needs, in any case.

Yeah, unless it's specifically a graphics based mod, with his processor speed, running a few hundred mods to suit his gaming needs shouldn't be a problem at all.
