Well - that is a very broad question.

What I'd advice you to do is first figure out content, then start worrying about the techincal details.
There are many things to consider in terms of techincal details, such as what techology to use, and then worry about finding software which can help. If you have no techincal profencies, then I'd advice you to find somebody to join forces with.

Simply saying "I would like to know how to bild a online game" is not the best start in my view.

Well I saw my buddy had some kind of a software program that made it like point click drop and the game was done. I just cant remember the name of it. Maybe the best thing to do would be to ask him. Apoligies!! to everyone for making a junk thread! (my question has been awnsered so mods feel free to close/delete etc)

Actually, chus, gamebuilding is so broad that it would take you many months to learn some of the basics, but then again, drag racing would be a fairly simple sport to copy...

My recomendation. Take classes in WebDesign, Information Portfolio, Javascript, and other types of multimedia. Perhaps even some C Programming... it can be implemented into such things is you use the same display protocols they use in robotics... all of which I was able to take in Junior high and high school.

Personally, it is difficult... perhaps you could design some cues... unfortunately, I never liked doing much either or programming, always gave me a headache.

If you understand some of the basics, go out to a libraery and borrow the book, but check that you understand what they are talking about first.

These books are also very expensive...

this is more Xandax's domain... all my technological expertise is more with exotic machinery.

I know that this thread was finsihed... just thought Id add a little bit.

well this come down to what type of engine you want use the creation of texture mitmaps, coding, file storing and and loading example: .pak, .wad, .SC2.

inorder to do this you need some serious tools and programming experience, something you can try is by studing a game that relates to what you want to build exp, Need for Speed. go into its files and C++ compiler and us it to access the .wad files it will open them and display the actuall content then go grab yourself some books on programing, best book i found is Game Designers Bible at Barnes and Noble, C++ and Any book on Major Graphics, example Lightwave, read them study them know them and off you shall go, it takes along time and patience cause you wont under stand a thing untill you try to read this stuff and hands on that help.

Good Luck
