Error with graphic engine for Titan Quest

Hi guys.
I'm an italian new player of Titan Quest. I've bought the game with the expansion.
Installed on my notebook (IBM T60 with an INTEL 950 - DX 9.0C - 1 gb RAM).

I've searched on this forum a thread similar to this one, but my english sucks so i'm not able to translate the error in english.

When i try to begin playing, before the splash screen of game, appears a popup with the error: IMPOSSIBILE INIZIALIZZARE IL MOTORE GRAFICO (something as: UNABLE TO INITIALIZE GRAPHIC... ehm... GRAPHIC ENGINE i think).

I've reinstalled the game in several directories, patched it till 1.30, disabled splash screen at start, but nothing. I've read in italian forum that is a common error, specially if the graphic card doesn't support pixel shaders 1.1. This is not my case, because INTEL 950 supports the 2.0 version.

So pls, i don't know how to resolve this problem. If someone has resolved it please write me here, in PM, in every way you like. But help me I'm going crazy.

I repeat: i'm sorry if a similar thread exists yet, but i have many problems with english.

Thanks very much guys, help me to play this great game.

Regards,
Andrea

What's your graphics card? It sounds like your laptop doesn't meet the requirements in terms of graphics.

My card is an INTEL 950.

I've installed the game on a notebook ACER with an ATI (i don't know the model).
In this case, the game adviced me that system requirements weren't satisfied during installation, but the game starts correctly, and i can play (low graphic but i play!).

On my notebook the game gives me the same error during installation. But then i can't play because the popup error appears..

I don't think is a problem of requirements, because in the first case it works!! In mine, obviously, not...

The difference IS part of a system requirement. You need a dedicated card, such as an ATI or Nvidia card that's somewhat up to date for gaming purposes. An Intel 950 I'm assuming is an integrated video card, meaning it's the bare minimum video card built into the computer just for the purposes of display and use of Windows XP.

So, if I'm reading correctly, you installed TQ on a lesser system and it ran fine, and -your- system is better but has an Intel 950 chip. The reason it runs on the other laptop is because of the ATI model card. Most integrated chips, no matter how powerful they are, just will not instalize a graphics engine meant for modern games.

Also, moving this to tech support...
Might get more responses there.
