When should KOTR III take place?

Honestly, as much as I want the story to continue, I would love to have the story go back in time and hit Revan and The Exile during the Mandalorian Wars. There are already so many refrences to the Mandalorian/Jedi Wars in both KOTR I and II, (and even the force cave on Korriban in KOTR II has a lot to do with the Mandalorian Wars) but I'd feel that it would complete the series a lot more if you can see the past and then perhaps hit back to story. But, you can of course say that if they take a whole game to go back into the past events it will delay the story too much and thusly taking some credit away from the story.

Well, I wanna hear what you all think.

Honestly...I think lucasarts needs to make at least 4 more games to complete the saga...
1)Needs to be aboout revan, and the mandalorian/jedi civil wars
2)Needs to be at the same time...only, this one needs to be about the exile
3)Needs to cover what happened to revan(and his friends)
4) Needs to continue the story of the exile

not in this order, of course!!

The sequel-prequel thread is already out there, but considering there's nearly four thousand years between the events of KOTOR 2 and Phantom Menace, the question of WHEN Kotor 3 should be is a relevant topic.
Personally, I think it should be going on at the same time as Kotor 2. That way we can find out what Revan was doing (although he/she should probably be a NPC) and fill in some of the gaps from Kotor 2.

RBitG, I'm with you on this backseat moderating. I also don't fancy doing background moderating either, unless compelled to do so. Most of the time, I leave it up to the moderator to do his/her job.

Hmmm, either thread is fine. The other one is about sequels of prequels, and if it happens to delve into the realm of when it should take place, then fine. However, this thread is more defined for that purpose, along with a title describing the details inside to boot. I'm going to leave this one open for now.

Good point there, Hill-Shatar, though I was wondering if this thread is really neccessary.

Oh well, since I'm here, I might as well post some ideas. Maybe the setting should start right after the Exile left for the Outer Rims, like a day or two, to countinue the search for Revan. That's my thoughts on the dateline.

I've finished KOTR II a lot of times before, but this was one of the first times I finished dark side and when Kreia was telling the future at the end of the game and she came to Atton it said something that for some reason didn't catch my eye. I don't know if this is JUST with Dark Jedi Atton or not, but Kreia said that he will, "Keep his murderer's heart and kill all the rest of the Jedi, until there are none and his powers consume him... but I will say no more." I'm a big Atton fan, but it sounds here that Atton might be in the next game as a possible Sith Maurader/Lord. So many the game is going to take place during The Exile's mission to the Outer Rim. Maybe Atton will find something? I dunno, lemme know what you guys think!

E3 was great except I saw no news on KOTR III... that sucked.

The 3 & 4 can be one...The Exile that seeks out Revan as Darth Traya and Carth said...
In the Sith Empire beyond the outer rim or something......

But I think they must make one in the years of Naga Sadow and the darkest Sith Lords.
Or the Great Hyperspace war between Sith and Jedi.

I like the idea of seeing all of revans story but i think that the game needs to go back to when the sith legends lived and you have to start a jedi council and kill all of the legends thats what i think would be cool

what if they made kotor3 with scenes that go back in time, like changeable flashbacks?

if kotor3 was about finding revan after he or she vanished, then that could tie into what happened after TSL and could continue the story of the exile

i think whoever the main character is, it should be someone who was once powerful but was tortured and lost his powers, and woke up on a prison planet
