The Smaller Touches

Call me silly, but I have a thing about jumping. No matter how useless it might be to the game at hand, I always feel cheated if your character is chained to the ground. I'm not saying that there has to be some sort of major 'Jumping Quest' or anything, but maybe along the way you could get over some hurdle by jumping over it.

And while we're on hurdles, how about ladders? The kind you can actually use instead of just being level gates? Just to make the game a little more real. Jumping+Climbing+maybe multi-floored levels.

I'm open to your thoughts, guys.

Well, in RPG games jumping is not seen too often, except Morrowind and Gothic. Climbing is even more rare. I don't think they will trouble themselves with such things in the next KotOR, as it is too much to work with. Although, I would be more than happy if I could finally overcome those unbeatable obstacles like pile of rocks blocking door

I'd be happy if they just let me use the Force to pull the stupid rocks out of the way... then I wouldn't have to get my pants dirty trying to climb over them.

Personally, I'd appreciate it if there were a bit more stairs to be seen; it's mostly just the ramp-like altitude-change-overcomers everywhere. (little old ladies zooming around in wheelchairs all over the place! sorry.)

And when there was the occasional stair or two to climb, the camera jittered so nervously on every new step that the joy and cheer completely wore out. So, if there are going to be some (or more than some) stairs in K3, perhaps the camera could follow our progress a bit more smoothly.

Oh well. Nitpick.

if they had stairs and ladders this could cause problems for all t3-like droids lol. i personally don't mind the lack of stairs or ladders but i do wish they would let your character jump (it always annoys me when the characters weigh so much they can't even jump to get past something in the way lol)

Maybe it's because they're all carrying about 50 medpacks, several different types of armour, plus a whole warehouse worth of weapons! It's hard to jump when each character is carrying about 100 kg of junk.

Maybe T3 could magically be equiped with little boosters like R2 was in the prequels.

Strangely enough, (or not), every time someone starts talking about the gigantic hyper-mall-warehouse's worth of inventory items, I remember my first playthrough of KotOR II - When I got to Malachor V and was browsing through my inventory for old times' sake, I realised I had spent nearly the entire game (since Dantooine as my first planet) carrying around a couple of dead salvagers. And there I was thinking the dead cat from Icewind Dale was the most hillarious thing I've ever seen...

How about different floors in the same map area then? Every map in K1-K2 was very...linear. There might be a change in elevation, but to get to a different floor you had to load to a different area. Plenty of RPG games have multiple floors in one area. Again, it's a small thing really, but it adds to the realism of the game.

EDIT: I suppose there was one map in K2 that was all right. It was in Peragus near the end right after you and Atton find T3 dumped in a shaft. That one kind of had multiple floors, but they didn't overlap.

Well, I was thinking 100kg EACH, so that's 100kg x 9 party members... but you're right, I was low balling it a bit.

Anyway, it would be nice to see a little diversity in the levels and stairs and what not really wouldn't be too hard to put into the game either. Hopefully, LA won't take the quick, easy (and flat) way next time.

how about some new dance-moves...?
I found it funny, that the man at nar shaadaa could tell a twi'lek-dancer she wasen't good enough for Vogga the hutt, and then tell you that you could do it better as long as you'd wear a bikini... And then you danced just like the twi'lek - awfully

How about better animations for sitting character? They were stiff as stick in previous games.

How about smiles?

It would be nice if the characters smiled occasionally. I only remember seeing several NPC laugh a few times (and my computer froze during a conversation with Atton once and he ended up with a hillariously stupid grin plastered across his face ). If we're so bent on having the game as realistic as possible, a little show of positive emotions wouldn't be that bad. (Or mabye I'm really pushing it now?)

Damn right you are. You're SICK!! WICKED!! TWISTED!! You should be SHOT I'm affraid.

Now serious - better animated faces with more feelings expressed on them - surprise, fear, joy and such. And how about your character have option to shave? Or to have a bath? Or to take out the trash? Or to watch TV and drink beer? That would be cool. And realistic too!
