| | Other Light weapon types, mustly the of the Lightsaber variety:
Fiber-cord linked lightsabers
Curve-hilted Lightsaber (wouldn't be able to make it out very well during gameplay but in the menu where you equip it or upgrade it would be easier to see)
Dual-phase Lightsaber
Great Lightsaber/Lightclub
Forked Lightsaber
Lightdagger
Lightsaber cane
Lightwhip

Lightwhip | Lightdagger and the curve-hilt lightsaber sounds neat. But some of those you mentioned do seem a little weird. I can't imagine a lightsaber to act like a whip or turn out like a fork-like shape for that matter. Same goes for the lightclub and fibre-cord type shape.

If not, go do your homework. |

However, these types of lightsabers seem to have been derived from the Star Wars Expanded Universe series (I don't delve into those kinds of things). Though some might sound cool, there are others that strike me as odd and hard to comprehend at times.

The only ones to ever show up in the nonExpanded Universe were regular, Electrum, Short, Curved Hilt, Double Bladed, and Dual Phase. |

| | | Something that is possible for them to add is a sword that could be empowered through the force, and thus turning something, like a Vibrosword into a bladed light saber, with the Force, instead of a concentrated light beam emitting from the object to create the new weapon.

That will give non-Jedi characters some leverage over those lightsaber wielders. But how about this idea of inserting a lightsaber crystal into any melee weapon (be it vibrosword or any type of swords for that matter)? That weapon will be glowing depending on the colour of that crystal and will make it more useful against lightsaber wielders.
By the way, welcome to the forums, Gambit. Hope you enjoy your time here.

The sword, in my opinion, should have some slot in between the blade and the hilt so as to slot in your desired crystal. It will be cool to have a sword or any melee weapon for that matter to emit a lightsaber glow.

| | | Then wouln't that just be a Lightsaber and a vibrosword? I don't get it.
But! how about a lightsaber that can "shoot" energy particles. Much like a blaster but a ranged targets can be used as a ranged wepon.
