| | | True, Des, black would work for that. That alone is the only time I could see black being used. But white or silver...? idk, can't see those being used. I guess the only reason for white or silver is cuz you already have black, might as well go to the other side of the spectrum, too. But for non-stealth lightsaber colors you'd need what I mentioned before: a light emitted from the blade, which lights up a small area around you. That'd be helpful for dark areas if you just wanna see around you.

| | | types of lightsabers I thought that there was pretty goos saber colours in the second one
perhaps there could be all the normal colours like blue and green which you can put to a normal, high and dark resoloution.
I think their should be types of lightsabers which have bonuses and weaknesses - short saber - good speed ,bad damage ,good 2 blade weilding - normal blade - balanced - 2 handed blade - good damage - slow -quite good defence

Something different for a change. I also wish that there would be a gold lightsaber but come to think of it, it will look almost similar to yellow, unless the developers find a way to make the colour look different to the regular yellow colour.

| | Hot Pink?? Gosh, I really hate that colour. In my opinion, that colour will suit a female character fine but not a male. But point taken nonetheless since its a welcome change to see different colours once in a while.

| | | Sabers Okay I have been reading this thread and I finally decided to join the community to put in my 2 cents. I have heard a lot of really cool ideas and some not so great ones. IMO. I wanted to give some input on some of the major issues in this thread. Firstly, Black lightsabers. Some have said that it isn't possible because it is the absence of light. Well if you play Star Wars RPG there are a lot of books about saber crystals and I have read a lot of articles about saber construction. Black is definitely an option listed in Star Wars RPG. The crystals are very rare but definitely possible. Also, most shades of standard colors (Light or Dark Blue, Dark Crimson Red, Dark or Light Green, Etc.) are very possible as long as you have a crystal that emits those colors. For a blue lightsaber, a light colored crystal will emit a light blue beam. A dark colored crystal will emit a dark blue beam. Now I don't pretend to be an expert on this. It is very possible that I have mixed up my facts, expecially since I haven't played Star Wars RPG in a while. Another thing that I know was mentioned briefly earlier although no one seemed to take notice, was that the Sith using red was not exactly a statement of evil. If i'm not mistaken, almost all of the focusing crystals on the Sith homeworld tended to make a red blade. So even though the red tends to fit their personalities it was less of an asthetic choice and more a strategic choice. They used what they had in surplus. Okay one more thing. As far as multicolored light sabers and different styles of saber go, just remember that even though the force is mystical in nature the Star Wars Universe is built around technology. A saber can't have more than one color because there is only one color crystal, and you can't have a lightsaber design unless Lucas' team can figure out a way to explain how it would work. Now don't think i don't agree with all of you... I would like nothing better than for Lucas to create a really cool design that is brand new, I just want to point out that if you are looking for really nifty new designs, they are probably going to have to be explained technologically.
As I said, I don't pretend to be an expert, these are just things that I have picked up over the years. I could be very mistaken and if I am, please correct me. I am not above being criticized or told that I am wrong. |

A black lightsaber wouldn't be feasible. It'd be possible in a game, surely, but black is the absence of color; therefore, it wouldn't be much of a lightsaber if a "black" light can't exist. Originally posted by Chimaera182
| White is the absence of color. Black is the composite of all color. It could be feasible, it would look totally badass, and with what someone else said about adding some intertwining red into it. That as well would be quite exceptional. |

I agree that it would look awesome, but they would have to explain how that could be and make it believable. |

for those who like other colours i think you should be able to have a double bladed saber and be able to have to different colours. |

| | Actually, black and white are both non-colours. I think that's the first thing I learned at drawing classes.
As for a lightsaber colour, it would have to be cyan. I had one in KotOR 1, by getting an extra rare crystal from the merchant in Yavin space station. It would be nice to have it again.
@Ender04 It's a game. I'm sure they could put 2 slots for colour crystals. Yes, I think that would be a nice touch. |

They have released a bunch of books that go over saber construction and how everything works, and my point was, if they can't figure out a scientific explanation for how you can fit 2 color crystals in the hilt and still keep the same intensity of the beam, then they won't put it in the game. I honestly don't care, but some people are picky and want it to be realistic (or as realistic as a Star Wars game can be). |

Thats strange i was thinking cannon
In episode 1 when Mauls saber is broken in half it seems clear to me that it is simply to single bladed sabers that are connected through the Hilt | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
