Not exactly exploding with Jedi, and the previous two games had a lot to do with those two particular groups (Sith and Jedi) that to not have much of it in the third might take a bit from the game.

After expressing his desire to see Neverwinter Nights 2 on the Xbox 360 (a wish that may not be fulfilled), Obsidian's Feargus Urquhart was also happy to discuss with TVG the current "will it/won't it" situation surrounding LucasArts Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 3.
"We have been talking with LucasArts to do KOTOR3 since August 2004 and we hoped to do it since KOTOR2 was done. LucasArts is thinking what they want to do with it and we would happily make KOTOR3, if that's what LucasArts wants to do."
So it seems ideas are on the table, whether or not LucasArts will conclude this trilogy faster then they do with others, however, remains to be seen. http://www.totalvideogames.com/news/...640_5665_0.htm |

| | As long as they do a good job, I don't mind the wait really. Its good that they are coming up with ideas now as it means they will have planned it all out so they can put loads of detail into it (hopefully ) |

| | | Not to be a downer, but what annoys me about this is that it sounds as though LA hasn't even greenlit anyone to start working on it yet. I was kinda hoping that someone was already working on it (and if that were the case, I'd happily wait for as long as it takes), but instead it sounds as though LA is still deciding whether they want to make one or not. I appreciate the digging, though, Krayt_Dragon. Bad news is still better than no news...

| | | I've been away for quite some time now but i've heard interesting news at ign.com. Bioware is opening up a studio in Austin Texas which will be solely devoted for their first ever upcoming massive multiplayer online title, could it be Knights of the Old Republic III? They haven't said anything about the title but i'm hoping it's KOTOR III.
I just read something interesting it sounded like someone actually posted about the game.(one of the designers) But maybe LucasArts is holding out on Obsidian because Bioware has something in the works already.(just a thought)
See ya until i find out more.

| | | KotOR III as an MMORPG? Hell no! There is already a MMO Star Wars game - SW Galaxies. KotOR III has to be a strict single-player game, if you ask me.

| | Well, considering how at the bottom of the article it says [via GameBanshee], I think we can assume that it's safe.

| | | good news regarding kotOR III Well, since the revelation that KotOR 3 has not been canceled Feargus Urquhart, the CEO of Obsidian Entertainment, has some good things to say about the development of a next game in the KotOR series.
"We have been talking with LucasArts to do KOTOR3 since August 2004 and we hoped to do it since KOTOR2 was done. LucasArts is thinking what they want to do with it and we would happily make KOTOR3, if that's what LucasArts wants to do."
So while there has been talks of the next game, Lucasarts still has yet to reveal it's timetable of when they would like to have it completed. At this point, any news regarding the development of KotOR 3 is good news. source: starwarsknights.com |

| | Hello
more KOTOR III news.
Ladies and Gentleman,
Some nice person over at the obsidian boards PM'ed me and was nice to pass on this news and link to me. It's about Kotor III. Quote:
Also, staying on the subject of deals, has LucasArts approached you to develop Knights of the Old Republic III?
We have been in talks with LucasArts to do KOTOR3 since August 2004 and we'd had hopes to start on it after KOTOR2. LucasArts are currently thinking about it, but we'd be really happy to do KOTOR3 if that's what LucasArts wants.
But nothing's been set in stone?
No. |

| | | I've been reading this on many sites now. Honestly? It looks like we're going to have to wait for as long as LucasArts wishes to. They haven't exactly been having a great Track Record for some games of late. Both sequels to some of the best Star Wars games, if not the best, have not been as great as we would have liked... Battlefront II and KotOR II. I have not heard anything on Empire at War yet from friends, but they really need to get some good games out eventually.

| | I haven't gotten Battlefront II; wasn't into BF I enough to go rushing out for the second one. KotOR II was good, albeit incomplete, but that's my opinion (frankly, I love Kreia, she was a well-developed character). Empire at War is a bit disappointing. It's mostly like Force Commander and Rebellion rolled up in one, although it's different enough to pretend to be a whole new game. I liked playing it for a while, and I find it addicting sometimes, but it's not so great. So, that's that, Hill.
As for KotOR III not being in production yet by Obsidian, maybe it's possible LA went to yet another company and had them start developing it. LA might be disappointed with how KotOR II came out and went to a different group to have them develop the third game. This may be why no one's coming up with any definitive, concrete evidence on when Obsidian will start it.
