That scene combined with the Jedi's statements regarding the PC's training, kinda gave it all away for me, and I doubt I'm the only one that saw it
Also - it shouldn't be a surprise when (almost) each time we see Revan he has his face hidden .... pretty big indicator imo
It might just be a product of me having played to many games during my time (and still ), but as I said, I think it is hard to make surprises in story/plot-lines these days, because we are so used to twisting stories in movies, games and books nowadays. |
Yeah, the first time I played, it was obvious I was Revan, but I don't remember what tipped me off; it was just the occassional thing that built it up in my mind. The second time I played the game, I kicked myself because I didn't remember Master Vrook say, "Are you certain Revan is dead? What if we undertake to train this one and the Dark Lord should return?" What does my training have to do with Revan's return? Somehow, I missed that line entirely the first time, but that's probably because at the time I wasn't looking for evidence to back up my hypothesis (since I hadn't had it yet).
As for choosing which side you would be, I hated that, too. It's the same in Jedi Academy; you can do all the dark side stuff you want and build up your dark side powers, but when it comes to that ONE fundamental moment, you can say, "You know what? I want to be a prancing Jedi," and BAM, you're just a goody two-shoes. At least Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight did a decent enough job of that: you had the light/dark side indicator, and when the moment to choose came, you become whichever side you lean closer to. None of this, "Oh, if I spare the lives of these fifty people here, but I kill this ONE person here, I'm bad to the bone." Or maybe, "Well, I'm just a happy Jedi... oops, sorry, I tripped and embedded my lightsaber in your eye. Silly Sithy me."
