| | | The true sith, as explained by Kriea, is not something tangible, but rather a belief/concept.

| | | Well - originally they were a race of physical beings in close connection with the dark side of the force according to what I know from the games and what I've looked up.
Although I am by far no SW expert so could easily be mistaken. |

The ancient sith no longer exist in the known galaxy and where beleived to have died out alltogether but obviously Revan knowns different and has gone to find them.

| | | Well I think they are still extinct, by "true Sith" I don't think they mean the actual race of Sith, just not some fallen Jedi pretenders who follow that belief system but aren't really up to it in the long run!

| | | Maybe (just maybe) the race of sith was not truly extinct. Korriban and Malachor V were supposed to be far from the heart of true sith empire(as Kreia said) - maybe only sith from the Republic are gone...

| | | Well, in the animation of the Clone Wars, the second series, I think,
there is an assassin who claims to be sith (true sith), she is recruted by Dooku and anakin ends up killing her
Soooo, I don't know, anyone have confirmation weather she was a REAL Sith? |

| | | OK here is the story of Sith:
Thousands of years before the Empire a renegade group of Jedi chalenged the Masters of the Order for the freedom to explore the dark side. When they were refused, defeted and finaly forced to exile they crossed the galaxy to find a place where they could live and learn as they choose without interference from the Order. Finaly they reached a planet inhabited by a barely civilized people that called themselves Sith. The primitive, superstitious Sith, seeinga a visitors from the stars, declared outcast gods and promptly devoted themselves to worshiping their new masters. For thousands of years that renegades rulled the Sith, expanding their empire to include nearby wolrds, without comming into contact with their ancient enemies. After conquering all the nearby world (and running out of foes to fignt) the Sith started fighting among themselves. When they were dangerously close to extinction through self-annihilation after the death of Sith Lord Marka Ragnos during the funeral on Korriban Republic scout-ship Starbreaker 12, piloted by Gav and Juri Daragon landed on Korriban which prompted the Sith to begin The Greah Hyperspace War (you get that from Kreia when you stand in front of Marka Ragnos' tomb) some 1000 years before events in KotoR and KotoR II. The war ended with the destruction of Sith empire, with only a few sith surviving after Naga Sadow's ship crashed on Yavin 4.
These are short version based on Dark Horse comics "The Golden Age of the Sith" and "The Fall of the Sith Empire" |
