Help, maybe a glitch? Spoilers

OK, after writing all this out I just saw the thread just below with the exact same problem. I didn't look first cause this is my first time through and I didn't want to stumble on any spoilers. So, I'll try what that thread suggested.


I'm asking for help at a certain section of the game, which will obviously involve spoilers, which follow:

I'm at the polar base on Telos, and as soon as I beat the droids and go inside, things start to go wrong. First of all when talking to the handmaiden I immediately get the impression I'm missing something. They're talking about Atris and one or two other things and places like I'm supposed to know what they're talking about. This is probably nothing, I just mention it because I have other reason to believe something has gone wrong, and so now I'm wondering if I've missed some cut-scene or something.
Anyway, so then I go and talk with Atris, and she tells me where to get my friends and ship. So I go to the prison and find someone (I think it's Bao-Dur, but I can't be sure cause he's lying on his face) unconscious in a cell. I can't click on him or talk to him or anything, and there are no consoles or switches to turn off the forcefield. When I enter the room with T3-M4 conversation with him immediately innitiates (without my clicking on anything) but there's nothing I can say other than "can you make me a programming spike?" And again, there is no way I can find to remove his containment field.
I can find the Ebon Hawk, but it says I need my crew to use it.
Weirdest of all, when I try to talk to Atton (who is standing by the facility entrance along with Kreia) it says something like "Cheat Node: Skip to confrontation with Atris" and "Cheat Node: continue conversation with Kriea". Selecting the Atris one gets me a repeat of the conversation with her, after which nothing is changed. The other option does nothing. Trying to talk to Kriea also does nothing.
One final thing, one of the handmaidens tells me about the Last Handmaiden, to whom I should speak about the artifacts. She says she's to the northwest, but I can find no handmaidens to the northwest, nor any with any unique dialogue other than the one who initially greets me, and she has only the same dialogue options she has when first we speak.

So, what the hell is going on? I haven't done anything to enable any cheats, and have no idea how to continue.
Please help with any suggestions.

I'm having the same problem, I'm going to keep reading to see if I can find any older posts on this.

If you haven't found it yet, it's very simple. Just don't give up your weapons with the first line of dialogue once you enter the place and get confronted by the handmaiden. Ask "who are you?" or something first, and you'll be fine. Hopefully you have a saved game in a useful spot...
