Dark Side or Light Side???

I enjoyed playing darkside quite a bit more than I did lightside, because to me, it reflects what most people would do with that kind of power; they would abuse it for their own personal gain and by so doing, harm those around them. In my eyes, the dark side is symbolic of human nature: following impulses and satisfying desires, whereas the lightside could be summed up as the super-ego, as Freud might say, where one does only what one thinks it right or just.

The darkside represents what it means to be human, whereas the lightside would remove itself from any trace of humanity (love, friendship, emotion, passion, anger, fear, any and all of which define the human being). It is difficult to call oneself human after cutting oneself off from everything that defines humanity, but then again, denying their humanity seems to be what being a Jedi is all about. Mouse from The Matrix said it the best "To deny our own impulses, is to deny the very thing that makes us human"

I agree and disagree.

I DO think that the Jedi's decision to cut themselves off from humanity is the key to their downfall, but I think the same can be said for the Sith.

The Sith are emotional cripples even more so than the Jedi. Passion, anger and cynicism are hardly a fulfilling repertoire (particularly when portrayed at an adolescent level, as they are in these games). They see the rest of humanity as prey.

Light side takes a lot longer, but I think it's better.

Whenever I play the game and do dark side I get sad.

First post for me. I just finished KOTOR1 and I'm just now starting KOTOR2 and I have played only LS so far. Probably after I finish 2 I will play both games again as DS. It's just in my nature to do the right thing so it might prove to be somewhat difficult. I'm sure I'll enjoy trying though.

Yeah... I always used to play Light Side...

But for some reason, it's just gotten so BORING. It's actually more fun to play dark side, even though it's evil and cruel and all that crap.

I love the dark side aspect for the storyline. Hunting down all the Jedi and Sith in the galaxy proved to alot more entertaining than saving the universe.

Defeating Vrook and absorbing all his power was the greatest kill.

Yess killing the jedi does bring immense pleasure. I am fully for the Dark Side and every time I play I laugh at the pathetic screams from the would-be "powerful" jedi and anyone who is an enemy of theirs is a friend of mine.

Just thinking of the jedi makes me mad!

Oh and if anyone wonders why I am posting this now i just felt like giving my opinion.

Darkside usually

It would be good if they made the game like, You go LS you work for jedi to fight againest sith, you go darkside you work with the sith and kill jedi.

Light side, or dark side?

Being neutral pays off for me the most.

I'd say Light side mostly, but the joy of this game is you can do both.
For example, had the extreme lightside points when attended the Jedi council on Dantooine, but found the arrogance and stupidity of the masters I had rescued too much to take. So .....Time to Terminate that relationship.
Game allows you to make a choice like that from time to time, and still come out ok.
I like that.


ps. I still think that Darth Traya should of been Atris. It seems to fit the story better.

I like the Dark Side becouse you can be ruthless and dont care about anything than you and your power.
Light Side i play for the story and to try something else.

I would rather choose the light side than the dark side, but In kotor2, I like to think of the exile as one who helps people but is not under any circumstances a jedi (don't ask, I just like the idea lol).
