The best argument I can think of is levelling.
Computer, Repair, Security and Demolition in most cases give you levelled experience rewards. With a bit of careful planning, you can actually take this to your advantage and aquire more levels than you would normally gather. Save doing mines, doors, computer hacks as late as possible because at higher levels they yield more experience and you'll have a chance to gain more levels.
This can make a huge difference early on in the game. Even if you don't plan on making use of demolitions all through the game, spending a few points on it and recovering all mines in the Peragus Facility Mines (after clearing it out & leveling up from the normal experience from robots) gives enough experience for an extra level (even nearly two, I believe). Always level up BEFORE you open a new area and have depleted use of every possible XP reward: enemies are newly generated the first time you enter a map and give more you more experience the higher your level is.
