Atton vs. Sion

Is there something tricky you have to do to get Atton to run in and help you when you're fighting Darth Sion?

Tricky has nothing to do with it. It wasn't implemented in the final game along with many features. There is a project in the works that corrects that mistake though, along with many others. It can be found at The Sith Lords Restoration Project - Team Gizka.

They're getting in the final stages now. Maybe a couple more months, if we're lucky.

This was cut from the game, as were all the other extra stuff near the end. The TSL Restoration Project is currently working on restoring these to the game but it still has no scheduled date for release.

Edit: I see Tricky has posted the same as me lol
