| | | What starting class best represents Luke Skywalker? If I wanted to play a character that was similar to the Jedi in the movies, what class would I start with? Which would I shoot for?

| | | Uh, I'd go with scout/guardian.
As much as I know he is quite good with repairs because he needed to repair a lot on tatooine.
He never showed much force power but quite a bit combat prowess, so guardian. |

| | Soldier, without question. Check out the feats progression. It's Jedi all the way.

| | | Well I guess just judging by the movies you could say that Luke is much better in the Melee combat than with the Force but in the books that take place after the movies it shows Luke as being even stronger in the Force than Yoda or Vader or even Palapatine. But he is also unprecedented in melee combat, so probably a mix would be the best way to go.
What I mean by a mix is the best balance between swords and force that you can manage.

| | | I agree with the scout. Luke showed the skill to repair, early in the series. Scouts specialize in the repair skill, since it only costs them 1 skill point to increase repair. Luke didn't grow up with any sort of combat training, so I don't think a brainless soldier would suit him, and he certainly wasn't a scoundrel throughout the series.
As for which Jedi class he should pick, that'd be a little bit tougher to answer.

Which is why I also added at the end that he is unprecedented in sword combat(except by Mara Jade ) And that the best class would be as good as possible of an average character to show that he is very evenly skilled in everything. |

In movies:
He is manipulated by palpatine and vader, that means he has no force resistance to these kind of things like a sentinel would.
He barely uses the force ever. So he's certainly not cut for a consular.
That leaves only the guardian. And force jump? Even vader said that he had impressive agility. |

| | | As a "representative build" I would go with Scout/Guardian - without using Implants despite it being available.
- Suitably high melee abilities
- Must have Repair high enough to complete a certain sub-quest
- Would require some skill points cheeze tactics to carry over Scout skill points for use then gaining Guardian levels for the purpose above
- Enough feats for a "power melee" built |

I suggested a build that emphasized feats. You responded that in the movies Luke was much better at melee than with the force. My point is that in the game, which is the focus of this thread, tjere are plenty of melee-enhancing feats, so that a build emphasizing feats could still be one that concentrates on melee.

| | | I guess I'm not being clear enough but I meant that Luke is just as skilled in the Force as he is in Melee combat. So you would want to make, I guess a Soldier class with a Jedi class that is all about the Force and very little melee combat for that class.(Sentinel?) That way it is evenly mixed and he gets plenty of melee feats, but also a lot of Force points and powers. |

| | | Well if I remember correctly you get more Firce Powers as a Sentinel, so combine this with a Soldier to get lots of melee feats, then, in my opinion you've got the skills of Luke in your character. |

| | | ^ You get more force powers only if you are the consular jedi class. The sentinel and guardian get the same number of force powers. The sentinel does get more force points (kotor's equivalent of mana), if that is what you meant.

It's been to long since I've played for me to remember which class gave you more Force Powers. I knew it was either Consular or Sentinel but I couldn't remember which. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
