Lightbulb Tip: Bypassing Calo on Kashyyyk

After encountering and attempting to battle Calo several times using various strategies/party members with no success, I was ready to backtrack and visit another planet. Then I discovered a way to bypass Calo completely. Below, in spoiler tags:

On a whim, I decided to have Canderous run around the corner. He ran into some beasts, but I had him continue running in hopes of losing the Wookiee on my trail and getting some rest-up time. Here I encountered Jolee, and was forced to engage in dialogue with him. Because only the main character can engage in dialogue, she was resurrected, despite having been left on the frontlines.

I loaded the Calo autosave again. This time, I went into solo mode and used my main to engage Calo and his henchmen whilst the other two party members ran around the corner. A Wookiee followed, but with Bastila's enhanced speed force power and Canderous' resilience, it wasn't hard to get away. I came to the Jolee cutscene, my main was resurrected, and I had all three party members again.

By the time I returned to leave the Shadowlands, everyone had levelled up, and I was able to take on one thug at a time by luring them around the corner with grenades. Additionally, I had the opportunity to shield/power up before already in battle.

Note:if you helped Freyyr, you should take care to heal up and prepare yourself for a battle with Gorwooken immediately following!

So! If you find Calo too difficult here, this is a pretty simple method of temporarily avoiding confrontation.

I'm playing the PC version, so perhaps someone else can verify that it should work on the Xbox.

Nice tip! I'm probably going to end up replaying KotOR at some point in the near future, and might try out some new tips that have been passed around recently, this one included.
