Spoilers highlight: i was soo shocked when i found out i was the dark lord of the sith i swear i started hyperventilating. i couldnt breathe. then after i calmed down and was able to stop shrieking about "the damn jedi and stupid bastila" i realized that there were soooo many signs pointing and hinting at it.

i was floored when i found out tho.

what did you do?

sipely fell to the dark side i think it came as a shock to everyone, but i hade a little idea of the sign that was giving like when master vrook said:are you sure revan is truli dead, what if we train this one and the dark lord shall retun.

Saw it coming waaay back--since games are so damn predictable, and in practically every RPG the player is cast as the king's dead son/son of a god/immortal/prophecized messiah/reincarnated hero/evil genius with amnesia, etc.

Pretty much the same for me.

As there had been plenty of "warning" and cluedropping throughout the game as it unfolded (sublety was not one of the design criterias apparently ) I can't say I was suprised or shocked about the "twist" ( ) in the plot as it was pretty obivious.

So I simply continued playing the game, as I had played it all along.

My suprised factor comes from the fact that many people apparently did not see the "twist" ( ) come from a mile away.

(Spoilers, please highlight) When I first found out that my character was Revan, it gave me a slight shock. But after having a chat to clear things up, it's back to business with me and to continue the game (via the LS path, that is).

really? i didnt see any of the hints until malak threw it in my face. all along i thought i was just some jedi that bastila picked up. i really had no idea that my guy was who he was. but then again im not a huge gamer. i just played this one and the second one. so i was very surprised. i didnt see it coming at all.

after i found out, i was so angry and shocked, i made my guy go dark side. then on the star forge, i killed bastila.

Same here. Well, to be honest, I didn't expect it too. Also thought I was some force adept that was just discovered by Bastilla. When Malak mentioned that 'I' was Revan, I thought to myself, I was a dark lord, so what? I can still remain light side with a change in heart. Not to mention that if being some Sith Lord will get yourself killed eventually by your apperentice, then what's the point of being one? I would rather be a Jedi who is respected by the people. It's just my opinion but that's why I prefer going light side.

I was also angry but I was more angry at Malak for purposely firing at my ship and I swore to get even with him. Me becoming his apprerentice? No way. After what he did to me, I'd be more happy staying light side and kick his butt to kingdom come (and destroy the Star Forge along with his corpse) rather than defect to the dark side, in my opinion.

no kidding. who wants to get murdered by your apprentice? plus malak did it in an underhanded way! he didnt challange you, he just shot at you from the saftey of his ship. then watched the jedi take you and make you their pawn.

but i didnt join bastila at the temple. i just wanted to smack the crap outa her for lying to me then becoming a hypocrite. then she ran off like a wiener. once i got to the star forge, i was more then happy to kill her and malak for taking *both* my identities.

You wouldn't have to be a huge gamer to figure it out, but simply having seen a few movies and read some books while reading/listening to the dialog would be enough. You already get the first clues very early in the game via dialogs with Carth. From there on out, with the jedi training and bastillas/jedimaster dialog it becomes pretty obvious.

Try the next time you play the game (if you do) and view the dialogs in the context of the "twist", and should be able to see how obvious they truely are (if you know).

Already being hinted at the "twist" so early in the game, I viewed the game-story/plot-related dialog with the notion that "something was there", then placed the hints together as they appeared, and perhaps that was why I wasn't suprised. I just really thought it obvious, very obvious.

well now ive noticed since i played it a billion and a half times. but the first time i played, i didnt see it at all. i just took it as cryptic master talk that was all. *shrugs*

Hmm, I think I started suspecting since the face of my character began to change. So it wasn't really a big surprise...just a nice twist to the story. Of course, playing on the evil side (a change is good once in a while ) I got my revenge on Bastilla and the whole Jedi lot. My opinion is that the Jedi keep preaching about not giving in to the dark side (which is just a matter of where you stand) because they're afraid they won't be able to control it and end up liking it.

I think it's more like not to give in to your feelings because once you do so, you'll be prone to fall to the dark side. I'm not a Star Wars fan but that is what I recall about what the Jedis always keep saying. That is one of the reasons why I sometimes dislike Jedis even though I prefer to go LS in KOTOR.

Sorry for going off-topic here but I've been thinking for a while. If Jedis are so afraid of personal feelings, how come the Republic Commandoes are not? I'm taking an example from Star Wars: Republic Commando about the clone commandoes. According to their history at the official website, the scientists at Kamino gave the commandoes emotions and feelings in order to improve their fighting capabilities over the ordinary clone troopers. The premise is that by giving them these feelings of brotherhood, they will bond together as brothers and fight harder for the sake of their fellow brother. All this just makes me think about why Jedis never thought of encouraging something like this. Just something to ponder about.
