New Bastila Nude mod

hi, i stumbled accross a reskin fo Bastila(makes her nude) and i was wondering if it is legal?

i tried a search, no usable info. it was on a pretty large website... so i guess it likely that its legal... but if anyone has an oppinion plz tell me!

Although I'm not an expert on such matters, I would say that technically it's not illegal to have a naked Bastilla in your game. After all, Basty is definately not aminor so you can't get done there. Further, I think Lucasarts are O.K. about re-skin mods- they've never complained about them at least- and while they won't be over happy that one of their charcter has become a bit slutty I can't think they'll come around to your house with a hit squad.

well... still with all the publicity with the GTA:San Andreas mod thing.... it got me kinda freaked out. So... im gonna email the creator and ask him... to be sure b4 i do anything

but then again im a minor... so...

If your under that age, I do not believe you should be viewing it. However, perhaps something else applicable pops up which makes it legal...

But usually, if you are a minor, it is against law to do such acts. sorry, Steven... But I dohnt think its different with pixels then it is with pictures.

but technically its not even a girl, its just a bunch of color muxed with dimension...

and would they come out and arrest me if i downloaded it?

Mods are always a grey area, beacuse some gamecompanies don't like it when people poke around and make such modficiations while others do - so the real question with mods is more a matter of what you are allowed to do with your game.

The buisness with Grand Theft Auto, wasn't as much the modification, but the fact that the game was sold under one age-rating, and that the unlocked content actually wasn't a mod, but something which were locked in the game - that is placed there by the developers. This meant that the game was sold with a wrong rating according to american "law" (dunno if it is law or guidelines), and that was where the whole mess originated from. (I still find it strange that 17 year olds are mature enough to kill everything in sight, but not see some pixelated nudity, but hey - each country for themself).

As I understznd, while in my view very immature and inconsequential, then a "nude mod" for a KotoR game I don't think is illegal, or has anything to do with ratings.
I've not seen any references to modding not being allowed for KotoR, although Lucasart has in the past worked against modding others of there games and using their copyrighted material. However, that was a long time ago (well, long in the gamingworld) and I've not seen anything recently.
It doesn't apply to the ratings, because it isn't something inherit in the game, but something some kid has made and added to the game (which was the defence Take2 tried to use with GTA)

So while I fail to see any reason for why people would want such a mod, I don't see anything "illegal" with it.

I am not as sure as you Xandax, however, both the countries of Canada and the Us have laws about viewing such things on the internet. Pornographic anime, for example, is a type of digital recreation approprite, and also by law, to be accessible to those above the age of 18. But this site is not viewing Bastila nude... it is a mod site so that you can download it onto your computer.

If it does, however, ask for credit card numbers, ID, your age, or a privacy form (read that through), or a box saying you are 18, the I would venture to say that such a thing may be considered illegal.

If it is a free download and there was no warning page, then it is not. At least, that is what I believe... this is a case of a 6 year old boy pulling playboy out of a dumpster. Not an exact analogy, but it will do.

However, if this is a free download, then I would be worried about the high risks of viruses. Perhaps even ones so detrimental that they destroy your softwarte. Run a check on the folder... try a put it in a quarintined folder as well before using it.

I am not sure about American or Canadian law, whereever you live. I will look for the relevant material, and will post if I find it.

hey, i just asked some1 from the site if its legal, he said yes its legal... but some may find it crude or unethical...
