there is only minimal turret fire. nothing strong enough to kill all my characters at once. i have even tried having one character attack while i run in the opposite direction and all my characters still die

I think it's a coding issue, and you'll need to contact Bioware tech support. It certainly doesn't sound like any of the other issues wev'e seen which were resolveable through updated drivers, better memory management, turning off graphical features, etc.

uhmm, as far as the turrets are concerned if they fire once you are dead. they don't have to repeatedly fire, they are an insta-kill devices, just like the turrets outside the elevator to the undercity on taris. one hit your dead sort of thing. simple plot devices. you don't have to be hit repeatedly.

so if they fire you are dead, that simple. it is not recognizing your disguises for whatever reason, try switching clothes and back into the sandpeople clothes again.

and make sure you don't have the wookie in your party. this is usually self-explanatory, but thought i'd point it out anyway. just to be safe.

Uh, neither set of turrets is 'insta-kill'. I've done the sand people enclave in the dark manner several times (totally disregarding the disguises, running in and killing everything that moves) and I've never been gunned down by godlike turrets.

I tryed to destroy the turrets at both locations (taris, tatooine) and I always got killed, and it did not take a lot of fighting. I definately believe that you can't enter the "giants of sand" settlement without their outfit. And for me it looked like "instakill" for it did not take more than two shots to get blasted by those. But I think I'll check it out again just to be sure.

A question: had anyone successfully entered the settlement without the outfit??? Or has anyone destroyed the turrets???

Just tested it myself, eidos is correct. There's a trigger that kills you outright if the turrets are hostile when you pass near the door. (My bad - guess I must've had the clothes on when I went in initially.) So it's definitely some problem with your disguise... try equipping it before the transition from the dune sea to the enclave entrance, if you're not already doing so.

By the way, it's the same thing with the Taris turrets. Huh.

But as Snowboarding points out, his party's death occurs instantly--rather like the electrical field guarding a certain complex. Can the turret provide insta-death? If not, the problem he's having has some other cause.

That's because the death trigger is the space directly in front of the enclave's door. If you walk over it without being properly disguised the game will kill you.

yes, the turrets provide INSTANT-death. surely some of you out there were amused enough by the converstaion option with the sith gaurd to choose....you can't stop me(or is it tell anyone) if you're dead. i thought that was just TOO funny. so i chose it. he muttered something at which point all turrets turned on me and my aprty died INSTANTLY. you do not even really see them fire.

they are there mainly as a plot device. meaning if you ignore the plot and go randomly a-slaughtering, you die. there is no real way to tell they have fired if i remember correctly. at least not at the door to the undercity. they merely turn towards you and you die.

I tried it once, assumed my characters were just too weak to withstand it. I think it was a certain dialogue option with Gadon that made me assume this ("That blockade was no match for me" or something to that effect).

bring both droids. u wear the sand people clothing. unequip ur sabers. run in with master speed. avoid detonating any bombs. save when ur as close as u can get b4 the turrets attack. then reload, put ur sabers back on, and u should be able to get through.

You should be able to pass the turrets with/without any of the droids and with even something as obviously unusual for sandP to carry as a lightsabre in your hand. You can even clean up the area entirely without the disguise and once you're done with that change clothes and enter. That should be it.
