I have a problem

I have only just got the game after playing it at a friend's house, but I can't get past the village on Taris: the game just freezes. I have got the latest patch, and disabled movies, but I don't know what else to do, because it still keeps doing it. Please help! I need to be able to play the game so I can procrastinate more!

try newest drivers and/or set all settings to minimum for the crashing area

I don't know if this will work but maybe you'd better try to configure your sound settings to Force Software at the advanced settings. It might work. So far the game haven't given me any problems even without patching the game at all. Hope this works.

I don't get what you mean by try newest drivers, but I'm pretty sure I've set everything to minimum, and I've tried the force software thing, and it's still not working.

He means, check that your video card drivers are the most recent drivers. Every now and then the card manufacturers will issue new, more uptodate drivers that you should download.

Thanks for all your help! I've finally got it working, but now I'm in the Vulkar garage, and I can't get into the engine lab. I've read the walkthrough, and it doesn't say anything about getting into the lab, so I don't know what to do. It says I need a pass card, and I know I got 2 pass cards earlier on, so it can't be those, and I've killed everyone in the garage and everyone in the base, and got all the stuff, so I don't know where to get one from.

Can't remember properly, but I think there is a computer that opens that door and the pass card is on one of the gang members that surrenders after you wound him - you can kill him for it or just let him give you it.

U go and kill the garage head. Get the pass from him. Down the hallway he was coming up there is his desk in 1 of the rooms. Get the pass key from it. Next to it is a computer terminal and once you do all the stuff on the terminal-opening doors, uploading schematincs and things on the cameras u need to go down the other hallway from the main garage and in 1 room is the engine. If U r dark listen to the vulkers offer. If u r light just kill the vulkars and get the engine. Go out the way u came back to the bek base and barra bing barra boom everyones happy. If u really need more help gamebanshee and places like ign and gamespot do walkthroughs. Plz tell me if this works.

I killed the garage head, and looked in all the rooms and got all the stuff, and there wasn't anything.
