| | | The bad thing about vista is that there's no "compatabilty mode" like the one in XP for Win98. So you pretty much are stuck, if there's no patches or anything to make it work. This is an annoying problem with games, I don't remember having such a hard time making Win98 games work on XP at all.
Seems like Microsoft needs to rethink some things.
If I find anything out, I'll post it. |

If I find anything out, I'll post it. | Well.... ehh .. there is in fact compatibility mode. But like in XP that is just rather pointless and mostly ineffective.
Oh, and I have had just as many problems with getting Win98 games to run on XP, as I've had getting other games to run on Vista (64bit as well, in fact. Heck, I'm running a 7 year old game right now).
Oh, and blaming Vista for why an old game doesn't run seems a tad .... well - uninformed in my view, however people did the exact same thing with most other versions of Windows, so I guess it is just popular target. (Nobody forces you to buy Windows anyway).
Anyways - somebody had problems with KOTOR2, and perhaps something in this thread can help you: http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/st...ems-92997.html
Otherwise, dual booting, downgrade to XP or earlier versions etc are all choices available. |

| | | Well its just how you like to say it... is it vistats or the games fault, they just dont work together too well... But it NEVER failed me on my old crappy computer that had xp, and this new one is a damn power machine with nvidia gforce 8800 and all kinds of good parts. I actually thought of the nocd crack myself, have just been too lazy to try and find one, couse í have a friend who got it working without anything like that, he just cannot help me becouse he doesnt remember how to do it... Well ill try nocd crack sometime. Or the dual boot if it doesnt work, installing xp on this computer wouldnt hurt at all. |

| | | @Drunkside, first you admit that you have thought of getting a No-CD crack, but were too lazy, and now you plainly ask us to do the work for you. Why not take ten minutes on google man, cracks are not that hard to find.
(PS, FYI to any mods feeling they should close this thread due to discussion of cracks, they are perfectly legal if you own the CD) |
