Equipping light saber?Help!

Okay so heres the deal... i cant equip the light saber dunno why i think its because i used cheats to get me all the way up to lvl 20 and now i cant lvl up my jedi level... did i mess up? do i have to restart the game?

If I remember correctly, level 20 is the level cap for the game.
If you have at least one level in a Jedi class, you should be able to equip an available lightsabre though.
Having used thoose cheats, you won't be able to go up any levels while at the level cap though.

If you were already level 20 when you went before the Jedi Council, then you're stuck. In order to wield a saber you have to 1) be accepted by the council for training and 2) level up at least once after being accepted for training. Until you take a level, the game doesn't consider you a Jedi, so you won't be able to use the Force or equip a saber.

Incidentally, most people make a special effort to keep their levels low before reaching the Jedi Council, the reason being that every level after that gives you Force Powers, but the ones before don't.

Also bear in mind that I haven't found a whole lot of gain cheating for levels in KOTOR, as the enemies scale to your level for difficulty (so won't be any easier if you are level 20 than if you are level 2), and the items you find and events you encounter are all 'fixed', not dependant on your level. (KOTOR2 on the other hand...)
