It should do. Not sure if it's persaude based, perhaps charisma based, but I never had any trouble with it. Just all the typical light-side responses, and then the third time you stop to talk (I think!) I am pretty sure you have to tell her you love her (awww) and she should help you out!

can't convince bastila

Is your character a male? Obviously, the game isn't programmed so that a female character can profess her love for Bastilla, and the two women will skip through a field of daisies, holding hands, and live happily ever after. If you're female, I don't think you can convince Bastilla at all to renounce her dark ways. If that's the case, well, you have to kill her. Now, if you're playing as a male... I dunno what to tell you. Maybe she doesn't think your lightsaber's big enough.

I always thought that the Light Saber was the best over compinsator... Look at Malak's phalic beam rod...

I just finished the game for the first time, thoroughly enjoyed it.

I played as a female and managed to convince Bastila to convert. No I didn't need to tell her I loved her

If you couldn't do it, my guess is that it's somehow related to how you managed your relationship with her throughout the game. Maybe choosing the wrong dialogue options earlier in the game made it so she wouldn't trust or believe in you sufficiently to ever be redeemed. At least that's how I would have programmed it if I was in charge....

I was also max on light side points too; that might be the reason, or a contributing factor.

Actually taking Bastila back to the light side is not a matter of male/female character but you have to choose carefully your replies xhen you talk to her the first time.

As I remember you must use only two times the answer with a [persuade] skill, the first time it's to say "turn to the jedi code", she says it all and feels better, next I think it's "you could help us against the sith", but if you pick one wrong answer it won't work.

Really? lol. Anyways don't forget that Juhani is actually a lesbian. This has been confirmed by Bioware. Her lover is/was Belaya. Bioware drop the whole back story last minute though I guess because of the sensitive subject. But listen and read their dialogues (Juhani and Belaya) when concerning each other because some of it was left in.

You know, I didn't wonder about that so much as I did wonder about the time I was a female and asked Juhani if she were hitting on me.

actually none of your previous relationship matters as long as you kissed. You must use two persuade options. One isn't enough. The way to do it is to tell her to "use our bond, take your strength from me" and then "I love you bastila..." persuade options. As long as you succeed in both of them she should be convinced.
