| | | Breathing problem I don't know if anyone have posted this before but I have taken notice that all High and Mighty sith lords and dark jedi's have a problem to breath or talk.
Malak: metalic voice because of injury.
Darth Vader: Breath problem because injury
Darth Sidious: Vispering sound in every word.
I think that george lucas loves breathing problems. Lol!!!
there is no point with this thread, just wanted to say in anyway.... |

*Said Sith Lord shakes his head and pulls out an eletronic voice box and speaks in the monotone buzzing voice* "No. I used to smoke 12 packs of unfiltered a day"

| | | Breathing problem Well, I'm an asthmatic, so I'm one step closer to being a Sith Lord! Long live Darth Chimaera, scourge of the Republic, destroyer of worlds, darkest of the dark... answers to his mother. |

| | | Breathing problem Well, let's look at it seriously, though:
1.) Vader didn't have a breathing problem so much as an "accident" that tore up his entire body; he just had the mask and sounded like he had trouble breathing, but he always seemed to talk in midbreath, so, really, did he have trouble?
2.) Sidious? Well, anyone can have a raspy voice. He wasn't a heavy breather so much as he was a withered old crone.
3.) Malak didn't seem to ever make any breathing sounds whatsoever in the game; I'm pretty sure he just lost most of his mouth, either to fighting the Mandalorians or the Jedi. If you remember when they show him with that piece off, it showed his mouth was entirely gone.
Speaking of "running out of ideas," what about the main guy in KotOR 2? His entire body is practically destroyed, but he uses the Force to stay alive. That DOES sound like Vader. |

| | | Some none insane monkey driven rambling to help out... According to many Starwars Geeks i know, Vader had to stay in his suit because when fighting Obi-Wan he was pushed/fell into lava or acid or something like that which torched his body, fried his lungs, and left him in a constant near critical state, which with out the force, he would have been dead.
I remember reading some book that was suppose to closely follow Georges SW Vader was in his chamber trying go heal himself focusing on his anger to strengthen the force, and it worked, which caused releif which caused him to lose the anger, so the darkside ***** slapped him and returned to normal, which made him angry, which helped him heal, releif, los of anger, *****slap... Talk about a vicious cycle that can trap a person in the darkside eh? |

| | | Acording to te KotOR story, didn't Malak lose his Mandible from sheer coruption of the force? The grey, scurvy skin is just the first step. Hmmm... Meditate on this, I will... |

| | | Breathing problem KotOR story as in the comic books? I guess it has to be because as many times as I've finished this game, I've never seen an explanation as to why his mouth is like that.
If he did lose his mouth that way, that's just... Richard Simmons gay, it really is. No one else ever lost body parts from dark side corruption. Sidious, Maul, Revan, Tyranus, they were all pretty complete. Can't count Vader, but he didn't really lose body parts BECAUSE of his corruption... unless you make the arguement that it was because of his corruption that Obi-wan pushed him into the lava and he got charred, THEN it was because of the dark side (or that Darth Tyranus cut off his hand, and in a way that was dark side corruption removing limbs from Vader). But the dark side itself certainly never did it directly to them. God, if dark side causes scurvy... ew, maybe it gave Revan syphillis. Watch out, Bastilla! |

| | | The dark side isnt going to start ripping arms and legs off at random, it weakens the entire body slowly, thats why Sidious/Palpatine(sp) while old, looks like an extremely old blood hound with all the dangly skin bits and all.
Its kinda like, Light side is the high way, its long, it can be bit slow at times, and takes alot to not go berserk when there are other idiots in the way.
Darkside is The side road that cuts several hour off the trip, gets you there faster, but has half a dozen toll booths on the way there that are gonna bend ya over the barrel as you go, and you dont get the pictures of the Grand Canyons. (hows that for an obtuse and convoluted analogy) |

| | | Breathing problem But it just turned Sidious really old. Malak lost his mouth. Sounds like the dark side affects everyone differently, if that's why that even is. Look at Sidious in the first two movies; he still looks old, but twenty years later, of course he looks that much older. I think that's just age.

| | | Darkside Users dont spontaniously lose body parts, there is always a reason, as others pointed out, lost in battle or something. Only way I could see a Darksider having body parts just drop off is because they are a Leper and the strain the darkside puts on their body has made it even weaker. Not to say that physically they are weak, so much as The Dark Side has a much higher price then just being an evil twisted jerk off.
Sidious maybe old, and is probally old as hell, and is probally using the force to elongate his life span, but because of the darkside his looks like a withered old husk (that can throw massive bolts of force lightning and other nasty stuff like that) Jedi masters who are and have been just as old, while look old, still look like they are in pretty damn good condition. The darkside takes a toll on the body, but its not like it just picks up a meat cleaver and goes, "Well.... Today I think I'm gonna take that foot of yours." |

| | | Breathing problems Yes, lost in battle. That's what I was suggesting how Malak lost his jaw.
