Are you very excited to see a sequel?

| | Well to answer your questions:
1) well not really
2) don't think so - hope it is better then no. 1
I'll prolly see it when it gets out on DVD in denmark, doubt I would go to the movies to see it. Usually such movies are great for a sunday afternoon when there is nothing else to do |

| | Yeah, I 'm pretty stoked about X2. Nightcrawler's moves look awesome, it has a decent budget this time, and Wolvie gets to kick ass. Plus Marvel's been on a roll, so I'm going to continue to support them (I've seen every Marvel movie since Blade in the theatre).

Edit: I've seen it now (and I couldn't care less about a sequel).

| | Normally I won't be interested in sequel unless some revies sez it's good. But with *cough*Kelly Hu*cough* in the film I think I'll check out the X2 anyway

| | | I really didn't like the first one, but I'm really expecting the second one. The trailer makes it look really good.
It also has two great actors added to the cast- Brian Cox, -whose been in a lot of movies in the past couple of years, in a lot of very good roles- as the villain and Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler.

I have to see Lady Deathstrike...

| | Has anyone seen Uncanny X-men.net? It looks like a good sight, on of the features is an "X-facts" section, containing little facts about the X-men, and other mutants. One of them is: in the next post...

| | | I have the X-fact here: Lady Deathstrike's father was the person who developed the procedure of bonding adamantium to bone. It is in black.

| | As a long time X-Men fan I know pretty much everything there is to know about the main characters already.

For instance, in the movie, they gave Rogue a name (Marie D'Ancanto) even though she has always been Rogue in the books. Similarly, in the movie Wolverine and Sabertooth apparently had not met, even though they have quite a history together from the Weapon X program.
There are lots of other compromises they made for the sake of the story to compress 30+ years of comics into two hours of screen time.

| | I think in the same vein though, HLD, they had to do a lot more compression for the Lord of the Rings saga, but that loses no attraction.
I know you're not arguing an either or case, but sometimes I think it doesn't matter. It gives a wider appeal to an audience, rather than just the hardcore group.
But I hate the way they changed The Philosophers Stone to The Sorcerers Stone.

| | | I very much like the way the X-Men movie brought Marvel's world of mutants, but there are notable departures from the books and I think it's important to separate the two and recognise that just because it happens that Scott Summers and Madeline Pryor were Cable's parents in the books, that may not be the case in the movies (if Cable even shows up at all). Similary, the movies (and their novel and comic adaptations) are bound to have no impact on the storylines of comics regardless of what they depict on screen.
I think many die hard X-Men comic book fans were put off by the way some of their favourite characters (ie-original X-Men like Beast and Angel) were left out or put on the back burner, but that is one of the necessary evils of translating the comics to the screen. Similar adjustments were made to Spider-Man.
X-Men is a fabulous universe with a tremendous following and mythology behind it. However, it is important to fans to realise that the movies are (and should be) separate story entities from their print counterparts.
