| | What were your favorite shows during your childhood We all had shows that we watched that were cartoons or somewhat childrens programming. What did all of you watch when you were kids, or at least your favorite shows when you were kids? (And Im talking beyond the toddler years where you watched Sesame Street or Mr Rogers. )
I was just clipping channels today and I stumbled across an old show called "Tiny Toon Adventures" by Stephen Spielburg...and I just thought to myself, "My gosh! It must have been 6-8 years since Ive seen this show..." And I watched every afternoon when I got home from school, ten years ago.
I also watched Animaniacs after Tiny Toons retired from the air at the time...
I also really enjoyed The old Batman cartoon series. I always watched that. And before that was the Transformers cartoon. Not to mention, when I was quite young, I liked "You Cant Do That On TV" Im sure there are more that Im forgetting at this point in time...
EDIT-Let me just make a list of mine so that its cleaner and easier to find what shows I liked..
"Tiny Toon Adventures"
"Animaniacs
"Transformers"
"Batman (Cartoon series)
"You Cant Do That on Television"
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"
"Garfield and Friends"

Im going to edit my original list-add the Turtles to the list along with the Garfield cartoon show...I have always liked Garfield whether in comic form or TV form.

Transformers also (the toys were mad cool)...
Power Rangers (hurray for cardboard houses!) although I was actually old enough to start getting cynical about this one after a couple of series IIRC
He-Man...

| | I joke about my age a lot up here, but this is where I *really* date myself. Even my wife, who's five years younger than me, didn't catch the stuff I did as a little kid. I just happened to hit things in the very first years of television's popularity.
Let's see. As a kid of about 3-5, I used to watch:
The brand new Abbott and Costello Show
Kukla, Fran and Ollie
Crusader Rabbit (same folks that later did Rocky and Bullwinkle)
Let's Pretend
The Howdy Doody Show
I also vaguely remember the Burns and Allen Show at the time (watched it much more frequently years later) and the Bob Crosby Show (because the latter came on right before Abbott and Costello).

Batman
FreakaZoid
Animaniacs
And When I was VERY young.
Bamse og Kylling (Translated: Teddy and Chicken).

| | Speaking of danish shows, I absolutely loved a show called Emily the Hen, pretty silly actually, as the main character was a chicken-looking tea-warmer (not cartoon)...
Besides that, I adored;
Skeleton Warriors
The Ninja Turtles, even bought several episodes on VHS
Law and Order ...kidding!
Sonic the hedgehog
...And Mickey Mouse! |
