2. Keyboard is not one of the categories in standard classification of musical instruments. The standard classification is based on the mechanisms for how the sounds are created, not necessarily what an instrument looks like at first glance. Piano is usually classified as a chordophone, ie an instrument where sound is produced by vibrating strings. The most widely used system for classification of musical instruments is the Hornbostel-Sachs system, which you can read more about here:
