The real question is:
Should I do it in a whirling frenzy, slamming and spamming post after post, until the SYMians eyes are spinning, and then I hit them square between the eyes with my all of a sudden 2000th post?
-----OR-----
Should I do it slow and slothlike, dribs of a post here one month, and drabs of a post here the next, until the SYMians eyes are glazed and glossed over, then I gently slip the event into their subconscious with my "thought it'd never get here" 2000th post?

If it were a pub thread though...
I think it would have to be something truly special and unique... It would need a certain "je ne sais quoi," to commemorate so auspicious an occasion...
