Just finished watching the news and looks like there was at least 50 kids in the school that collapsed. And what is with all the volcano's errupting. Not a good time to be in Italy. I think Italy is now winning the race to fall off into the ocean the people in CA should be happy

We've lost 21 kids in that school, so far
Probably more

I won't start debating about speculations on materials, or buildings'
tolerances reduced to a minimum to spare money

I just can't see why fate has to be so cruel, everywhere.
How can people still believe in anything?

Surely it's not equally important for everybody, here...
I know we can't always be mourning and mourning.
But I wanted to share for a moment the sense of loss.
25 dead children, 5-9 years old.

One of the little survivors said the she held the hands of two
friends of hers, all the time. She knew that at least one of them
was exctracted alive.

People was crying before the TV screens today.
A priest, after having seen all those little, lifeless bodies,
said that even his own faith was falthering (or something like that).
That small community has lost a great part of their youngest generation...

Yes...this is heartbreaking... My condolences go out to anyone who has been hurt in some way.

Its the way the world is. Theres a lot of bad that overshadows the good. You just got to look hard for the good to keep hope alive. And Im a pessimist, through and through. Always have been, always will. But there is nothing you can gain if all you think of is not believing and looking at the heartbreaking stuff. You just gotta hope. Got to go on, and you have to keep believing, especially, if youre a religeous person. Because thinking very negatively wont get you very far, and would be all too depressing. Believe me. Ive been there many a times.

What can I say. I am so, so sorry to anyone who has been affected in any way by the events in Italy. Such tragedies are terrible, and getting more frequent. What is happening in this world that means it's OK to put the lives of children at risk to save a bit of cost to the builders?

@Kamaleon: it was only an assumption, but my father works in the sector,
and witnessed such behaviours more than once.
And the building was one of few that collapsed!

Anyway, seems that the little town lost its entire class '96.
They have no more 6 years kids, if I understood what they said.
The major is living a terrible moment, he could have decided to close
the school after the first tremors, but he didn't, and he too has lost
his daughter there.

I agree to your words @Tyb, that's my signature...
One has to get even more close to the living...
And somehow is conforting to know that people got there and
started digging with hands and nails...
