I am doing this so people can expresly say how much they love or dislike big major or other wise franchising corporations. I think that everyone should be able to get their veiws out there no matter how small or insignificant. I ALSO LOVE DELL BUT JUST A LITTLE BIT

I appreciate Iron Lore, Obsidian Entertainment, and Malhavoc Press due to the nature of the quality that they continually produce. Each one of them have good games they produce, at least in my opinion, and none have ever let me down.
Curious, why do you like Microsoft and Dell. I'm not saying you shouldn't, but just saying "I love them" doesn't really provide a reason for loving them.

As for game developers, I really admire Infinity Ward, id Software, IO Interactive, Valve Software, Ubisoft Montreal, Relic Entertainment, Blizzard Entertainment, Maxis, Crystal Dynamics, Square-Enix and Monolith Productions. I don't really appreciate RPG developers that much because the games they create are not really my cup of tea.
Dell, I like because of the good customer service and the products sold are of pretty good quality.

Google!
Generally good products. Best email system I've ever used, period.

Can't stand Microsoft, and have felt that way for over 20 years, too many reasons to list here. Just put it down to their consistent dishonesty.
No problem with Del, never used them, I prefer to use AMD processors, and Del are sitting snugly in Intel's pocket.
No particular problem with Intel, just believe that a monopoly is a bad idea, and therefore I like to encourage competition.
I'm beginning to hate Obsidian, they keep turning potentially good RPGs into trash. They simply don't have a clue what RPGs are about. For instance the way they continually force you to have characters in the party you wouldn't touch with a bargepole, at least not gently.
I used to have a soft spot for Apple, although the only Mac I've ever had was like decades ago.
Bioware are definitely in my top 10 software developers, BG2 is one of the best games ever, and KOTOR wasn't bad. I wasn't too happy with NWN, but that was more due to the fact that I don't like Turd Edition than the way they developed the game.

I have to say that as a general rule, I tend to dislike the bigwig corporations. Part of it is a simple kneejerk reaction because I suppose I'm something of a hippy at heart...
But, more significantly, I find that smaller companies in the tech world simply make better, nimbler and more innovative products.
One example I can think of from the top of my head is Foxit which far outstrips Adobe. Not only is it much faster since it doesn't come packaged with all kinds of extraneous bells and whistles, but you can actually mark up your PDFs with it.
Oh, and it's freeware.
The same can be said of gaming companies, IMO. I think that these days our hope lies with the small independents.
To the topic at hand, however, as I said above, I am generally impressed by Google, most of what they create is very good in my view.

Don't like Microsoft. Their conduct in the past has repeatedly shown that they want a monopoly, not just of platforms, but of applications, games, and hardware, as well. History has shown us that monopolies are bad for innovation and creativity, so I'd just as soon they were broken up into several smaller companies. It won't happen, but at least the EU has the greedy giant in its sights.

| Ok, well I really like Annie's macaroni and cheese. It comes in a box in the market like Kraft, but is better. Annie's is a small company (I think they are in Connecticut) and they have a bunny on their box. I like bunnies.
On the flip side of the coin, I refuse to wear Nike sportswear and sneakers. I saw a segment on the TV program "60 Minutes" over 10 years ago featuring an interview with some bigwig at Nike. When asked about the companies policy of outsourcing he replied that he was forced to do so because "the American people don't want to make sneakers for $8.25 and hour" (sorry, this is pretty accurate, but I am still paraphrasing...that isn't an actual verbatim quote). My then husband and I looked at each other thunderstruck. We knew that many people had just been laid off in our community by GE and those folks would have jumped all over such a job.
That was it for me, I have never bought another Nike product since.

I don't particularly have a "like" relationship with Microsoft..its more of I tend to work in a MS atmosphere..
but I do have a fond spot for The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation for the work in putting computers in all public libraries, I've seen firsthand the results and usage that this has brought the public.

@Bluesky,
you do indeed have a point with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, they do a lot of incredible work in the developing world. I saw Bill and Melinda speak at the International Aids Conference in Toronto in August... (we were in the city at the time and it was televised) they were sincere and moving.
I dislike Microsoft... but yeah...

I dislike Microsoft... but yeah... | The interesting thing is that at one time, Gates was known as as a legendary tightwad on the level of Cheney or Scrooge. He wouldn't give a cent quite literally to any charity. In fact, a couple of friends of mine, who work for one of the casinos in Vegas, found out while I was there (through the pipeline all the workers in the hotels share) that he stiffed the bellhop who moved his entourage up to the penthouse suite, which he got free for bringing so many people to COMDEX.
It was Ted Turner who first shamed Gates into looking into charities, and did so, publically. Melinda also had a hand in his reformation.
He doesn't run Microsoft any longer, in any case.
