| | | wh000t - Icehockey A-WC HAHAHA
Don't usually follow Icehockey much - but this is the first time EVER Denmark is represented at the A-World Championship.
First match was against the US, and eventhough Denmark is starting to play good icehockey nobody thought them a chance (let alone the US I bet )
Score:
Denmark - US : 5 - 2
This will be (possible) the biggest sentation at this World Cup - unless Japan goes out and wins gold or something |

| | Lol...
That's a pretty big sensation, considering the fact that U.S.A had 11 NHL players in their squad. Just the thing that makes "sport" so wonderful...
Sweden had some problems too, but in the end they managed to win with 3-1....against Latvia....

Tonight, Sweden will meet Belarus - I am sure no Swedes have forgotten the Olympic Trauma yet....

| | | This has nothing to do with whatever hockey you guys are talking about, but who's been watching the mighty ducks here in the U.S.? 6 wins in a row against the defending champs and the best team in hockey, wow.

| | We're talking about the World Champs, but yes, I know Anaheim has been amazing during the Stanley cup playoffs.

| | Well - Denmark got, as expected, creamed by Russia - but hey ... we scored a goal
And will most likely stay in group A (untill next year) |

| | @Xandax: Well actually it is better then that...
Because of Switzerlands win against U.S.A with 1-0, Denmark are ready for the second round where they will face....Sweden...
Let's not hope Denmark pull home any more "shock results"...

| | @Xandax: I've found a swedish site with it. If you can read it go here
In it it sais that Denmark was in the A WC last time in 1949 when they lost against canada with 47-0. This is a record still in the A WC

Seems there wasn't even a danish icehockey organisation at that time - it was Denmark getting an invitation as country #10 out of 10 and then 15 people showing up for their first national game Cool to have at least one record
And technically - there wasn't a A-B-C grouping back then - so can't really call it A-WC | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
