Violence against Women on the up

This is just an example of spain. But recently excluding Pakistani/muslim society where women have very different statuses and issues. Some are burned alive or "honor killed" while others become leaders of the country.

Anyway the article highlights an important aspect of society. Men beat women for their own inadequacies? Or for what reason? I just cant understand why you would hit a woman. Personally in my chauvinistic opinion women shouldnt be beaten at all, they are fragile, sensitive and stuff. One foul word can set them of, imagine what beatings must do to their psyche.
