Besides, a doctor, even a woefully under-rescourced one, does a lot more good in Haiti than in the US.
Also, I'm not suggesting that we should refuse asylum to educated professioanls. I'm saying that it's wrong to refuse asylum to everyone else, based solely on their economic use to the host country, or to target recruitment drives at third world medical professionals, knowing that improved wages and conditons will inevitably result in them leaving their country, whilst people who desperately need asylum are refused due to lack of qualifications.
