Unnenployed.

So, here I am, without a job, running my farm. And preparing to go to the europe in the end of the year.

Does anyone has a job for an unnenployed economist with good administrative curriculum?

Or any tips for me to study outside? I mean, I plan going to Ireland, but anything may be possible...

IŽll be waiting for replies... *hugs board*

Sounds to me you might have the right skill set for government work, have you checked there? I don't know how it works in Brazil, but up here people can often get positions with the government by starting out as an auxilliary or doing contract work.

Luis, I would gladly pay you a few dollars to take my garbage out. It's been sitting by the front door since yesterday, and I keep forgetting to take it to the dumpster as I head to work.

Try to get a job in the European Community. I suppose you need to be a civil of a european country, but it pays extremely well, and getting a visum in Belgium is not that hard

Hi Luis! Sorry to hear you are unemployed, but nice to hear you are coming to Europe! Who knows, maybe we can meet up one day - Europe is small and travelling is cheap when you have as many award points at air companies as I have

I don't know anything about the economist job market outside Sweden, but in Sweden it's very bad due to mass education of economists. It's not difficult to get a job, but it's quite difficult to get a good job.

You could apply for a job in the Swedish government...they would need an economists, because they certainly don't have a single one now.

Indeed! I would have never thought that so many people from GameBanshee visited Hungary, too

I hope you'll find what you're looking for here! I can't really give you advice what job you should apply to in Ireland, though... Anybody here from there?

If you decide to work for the US government, please do not become an IRS agent. We have enough of the bloodsuckers here as it is.

The US is not part of Europe even though Dubbayah once said so

Seriously though, what kind of job are you looking for Luis? In administration, in business, in academia? I know nothing of the Irish job market for economists, but in general, unemployment is not low in Ireland I think (it was some years ago I was there last time) and it's a pretty small job market.

We have a couple of Irish SYM:ians, but I haven't seen any of them around lately, unfortunately...

Dubuyah said that?! He never ceases to amaze me. And by the way that was NOT a compliment.

Dubbayh has said many strange things when he has held public speeches. He must have some kind of language deficit. The full quote is:

"We have a firm commitment to NATO, we are a part of NATO. We have a firm commitment to Europe, we are a part of Europe".

Yo!

Thank you Gamebanshee people... I really missed your influence on my life... to much time without posting makes me very sad but I just gotta face this and do what is needed to do.

Well, I have questions...

First, DW, why do you say I could be a good person in a public worker? I'm very curious indeed. Gotta knwo what you think. Here in Brazil the public working machine is only getting smaller and worst paid, so I'm outta here...

Chanak, I'm glad you answered. And here it goes: I'd take your garbage out for ten dollars a day. American dollars of course. But only take the garbage out you know. (you better adopt a kid for that )

C Elegans, what happened in Sweden for you to get upset? Is it so bad there? I mean, I'm nominee for the job, but I gotta teach you some about planning... heheh....

Brynn, I love you. Thank you for defending me...

Hugs all...

When are you coming to Europe, Luis? (Exact date...) I'd love to help you if I was Irish, but I'm not Don't you want to work in Hungary instead? Not that the chances are better here, though... It takes a while to get a job here, you have to have many friends
But our universities are very popular, many foreign people come here to study, especially to the technical and medical unis.

I'm not sure what DW meant exactly by "public worker", but I can't imagine you sitting in an office and working alone in silence all day - you'll definitely need interaction, people around you.

Btw, if you stick to Ireland for some reason, could you please get me a signed CD from Bono?

CE, who is Dubbayah/Dubuyah/Dubbayh? Even if the US is part of Europe he's not very well known here

@Brynn: Dubbayah is a nickname for George W Bush, it comes from the "W" in his name.

What has happened in Sweden is a long story, starting back in the 1970's when the government took big foreign loans in order to "keep the wellfare" in Sweden during the Oil crisis. After that, it's been a story of spending lots of money on inefficient systems. Bad organisation and lack of evaluation is only the first name - for instance, we have the most expensive school system and the most expensive heath care system in the world per capita, still the quality of the educational system is mediocre compared to the rest of Europe, and the health care system is fairly expensive for the citizens, but worst of all - it is inefficient with long waiting lines etc, etc.
