| | | The State of the Union It was on here at 4 AM, so I taped it. I just started watching it. So far he's up to taxes, anyone else see it? Fable, any flames?
It's hillarious seeing Joe Lieberman and Hillary Clinton sitting right next to each other, and appear to be chatting about how big a lie what Bush just said was.

| | Any insight for us chaps who live on the other side of the globe.
You make it sound rather scandalous whatever it is.
EDIT - The transcript has been released.

| | Hey! As I've remarked here before, it appears plenty of people dislike him more than me.
But in fairness to any President, the State of the Union address is nothing more than high cholesterol, free publicity. It never contains any details, only broad statements, and it never changes any minds. As I recall, Bush said Powell would deliver the "smoking gun" of Iraq to the public on the 5th. That might be worth hearing--assuming you believe that there is any reason one nation should sit in self-appointed judgement of another's existence, of course.

| | I heard there was a drinking game associated with the State of the Union. I wonder how many students became intoxicated because of GWB last night? I wonder if his daughters played that game? |

| A little overdramatic don't you think? - Bush is proposing removing Sadam from power and helping to establish a democratic form of government in Iraq. As far as I know no one is proposing nuking Iraq.
Actually - I just remembered - Sadam was recently re-elected with 100% of the vote - I guess they already have a democratic government...

I was stating a fact above. If you want to get into a discussion of opinions concerning Bush and his motivations, maybe we should take this down to one of our Hussein threads. I know you'd get some argument on Bush's reasons for wanting to invade another nation and topple its government.

| | On msn.com's Slate section, they asked where the "State of the Union" was in the speech. Apparently, it was full of promises that a two week president would make, rather then a two year one. I didn't bother to watch it...had friends over yesterday.

That link will take you to the rules and the drink tally.
