The truth is I don't think any female can totally understand me I'm a loner, not to mention I prefer not to be tied down - it's the downside of this relationship . If I don't restarin myself on certain areas I don't think my current GF can stay besides me for a month.

Maybe he means that eyes give a sense of the physical self-confidence of the person, or their honesty, or possibly communicate something empathically. Eyes matter a good deal to me, too--but only after I've been turned on by other things (like intelligence and body).
