The draft has become something of a spectacle, so the TV folks may try to get teams to stretch things out for ratings in the first round. | Yes, and you can blame this on viewers like me. There will be many sports to watch this Saturday, and in years past I just have watched the first 2 rounds or so and then click back to the channel periodically in order to keep updated. But there are too many sports in action this weekend, so I cannot afford to just stick to the draft all day and miss everything else. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy the draft, and I will be watching this weekend, but I also enjoy baseball, racing, and playoff hockey...
Fans like BS, who watch it start to finish kind of put me to shame

| | | It's starting in 30 minutes. I heard that the Bengals already selected Carson Palmer (QB).
My team, the Jets, just traded with the Bears for the 4th pick. They are after DT Dewayne Robertson of Kentucky, who has been compared to Warren Sapp. I'm still shaking my head over the loss of Coles and Morton, though. And to the Skins! I hate the Skins!

| | | You're a Skins fan, BS???
I mean, I hated them from way back when - when I lived in TX and was a Cowboys fan.
BTW, I'm still a fan of the 'Boys (though you can't really talk about that around Giants fans...), and it's exciting to see Parcells coaching again. I'll be watching them this year.

| | | Well, the first day of the draft is almost over. How did everyone's favourite teams do?
My Jaguars picked up Byron Leftwich, giving them three fairly good QBs.
Anyone surprised by what's gone on? How about the Vikings bungling their first pick (again)?
Which players went too high? Which players were steals?

| | | Most confusing pick from my stanpoint was buffalo picking McGahee....I said whoever picked him up would get a steal...but with travis henry on the roster, I don't see the logic here.
Arizona blew it. Trading down and losing Suggs from a team with long history of no pass rush at all. Again, I don't get it.
I like what the Lions did with their forst couple picks. Baily is a good player in the 2nd. Ravens played out pretty well I think too. And 10 years from now, we're gonna wonder how TB was able to pick up Simms in the 4th.

| | Well I actually decided to watch the whole thing in its entirety. I had my chips with cheese and olives ready with the dip. And I was also ready to yell at the tv.
I WOULD have watched the entire thing, had I not lost power 7:30 into the TEN first round pick. The power was out for an hour and a half, and by the time the power returned, the 2nd round had started. But I still managed to watch a ton of it. Good stuff.
As far as my team the Patriots, they drafted me! Ty! Well no, maybe not. But Ty Warren was chosen, and he isnt durable, but I hope he helps the Defense. We also got a CB and WR. I cant really argue too much. We traded away a lot though. I was sort of disappointed we didnt gamble with MacGahee on that 19th pic. That would have caused a stir.
There were 2 teams that blew it, ARZ as BS said, and the MIN debaucle, though that wont be as bad as it could have been.
My pick for diamond in the rough still has yet to be picked and hasnt been mentioned yet, and that is QB Brad Banks. He can hit his marks and is a play-maker. But he will probably go in about the last round or so. I say he will be the quiet surprise if someone actually decides to put him in a starting role in his future. Just wait.
Boss Bailey was a bargain. Washington for the Bengals was a bargain. Dallas Clark for IND was a bargain. And Chris Brown was also a bargain. Those were the later picks that IMO, were the biggest bargains. There were, obviously a few picks that went a LITTLE bit later then I would have expected, but those didnt fall quite as far as the bargains I refer to above.
