| | | The Early Morning, Drinking Coffee, Feeling Grumpy Thread The title says it all. It's morning, I am drinking coffee, and I am defintely feeling grumpy.
In a similar situation? You're welcome to join me at the dining room table. Some things you should know first:
Cheerfulness will not be tolerated. One happy peep out of you, and I'll press the red button on my chair labeled "Say Hello to Bunny." For those who don't know, Bunny is a 1200 pound crocodilian who inhabits the murky pit beneath my house. Every trap door leads to Bunny...and I have lots of trap doors in my house.
There's a bowl of aspirin at the table. Have a headache? Take as many as your stomach can handle. In my case, aspirin is a big part of my breakfast in the mornings these days. Bloody allergies...
Do not prepare food of any kind. That will earn a trip to meet Bunny. I'm drinking coffee, feeling grumpy, and have a headache. Breakfast is coffee and aspirin. That's it. Bah.
Hung over? This is the place to be. Shoot, I could qualify as being hung over, except I only drink alcoholic beverages on rare occasions. So, the hung-over are welcome. The bathroom is to the right of the kitchen table.
Witty sayings are welcome, as long as they don't violate the cheerfulness rule. If I detect any cheeriness, you're going to do the backstroke with Bunny.
Okay. There are more ground rules, but I prefer to let those be known later on...preferably as someone violates one of them. Did I mention that I'm in a grumpy mood?

Hmmm...I guess so, Xan. Just behave yourself in a grumpy fashion. And don't badmouth the coffee drinking.

| | Early morning Chan? It's not even early by my time zone, and you're two hours ahead of me
However, I still have a coffee pot on the table and am thinking about preparing fresh. As to the grumpiness factor, I can't ever claim to be the bubbly or cheery type, and I still have a cold which is irritating me to no end...so yep..."grumpy" is me.
Does that qualify?

| | This is a thread just suitable for me right now... excluding that it's not morning here
And I'm not drinking coffee (yet), but beer instead. And the aspirin is not good to take with alcohol, isn't it...
But I'm not definately cheerfull at the moment.

| | | This is a perfect thread for my wife. She doesn't wake up until a good hour or more after she wakes up, if you follow me, and she's grumpy as hell. Only thing is, she usually doesn't post. I'll see if I can wake her (she's napping) and ask if she wants to.

@DW: Harrumph. Colds which irritate you qualify. Okay, you're in, but I better not see any smiles unless they are sardonic or evil in nature.
Morning is when I wake up, at least on the weekends. During the week, it's 4:15 AM for me (subsequently 2:15 AM for you ). Like fable's wife, I need about an hour to psych myself up to deal with the world. Without that hour, I'm a bear all day long.
@Kipi: It doesn't have to be morning where you are. It's the spirit of it all that counts. If you're in the sort of mood where you'd cut off your nose to spite your face...or better yet, cut someone else's nose off to spite their face...then this is the place to hang out. And stew. And fume. And mutter. And scowl.

I ended up sleeping in because I had insomia last night. When I woke up my SO had drank two thirds of the pot, I convinced him to prepare fresh
@Chan,
I know what you mean. It doesn't matter when I actually wake up, I *always* need at least an hour of fairly undisturbed tranquillity before feeling human enough to be civil.

| | Darn! Now, I'm grumpy!!! Morning all... 7.07am local time.
Had freshly brewed coffee prepared. Normally I would have it in my travelling coffee mug (yeah, you guessed it, the metallic-looking one from starbucks ) as I drink my brew on my way to work and drink between stop lights...
...but for today, I forgot the mug at home!!!
I was too much in a hurry to get to work. >insert rant here< !!!! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
