I noted that BS was moaning in another thread about the lack of watering holes, so I figured I'd step into the breach
Welcome to The Dragon's Breath Inn. The Inn is more of a cozy, rambling warren actually. Walls are stone and brick, the floor is oaken board, and a long, polished mahogony bar runs along an entire side of the main room. Candles and lanterns adorn walls and tables, while dragon statues (which occasionally emit bursts of flame from their fangs) peer from smoky corners.
The speakers currently project Pink Floyd. Later in the evening they will gradually turn to John Coltrane, Miles Davis and perhaps some Blues as well, select your favourite artist
Rooms are available for weary travellers (or those who simply seek "other" forms of entertainment ), and all manner of alcohol can be had at the bar. However, we specialise in fine whiskies and bourbons.

I'm weary, and I'm here. We just started getting what will likely prove 4-6 inches of snow before it ends tomorrow. The only compensation is that since this is New Jersey, that's no reason to go out, anyway.
Have you any of those wines on tap you recently discussed in my new thread?

Hi Fable,
I have a nice Redbank (Australian vintage) Cab/Shiraz here. Perfect for the weary bones on a cold evening.

I'll take three shots of espresso and a bottle of aspirin, if you please. After I take a few aspirin, I'll challenge fable to a round of english darts, and see how many I can actually land on the dartboard.

Coming right up, funny how you should know I have both espresso and aspirin on hand
LMAO! *wonders if she should be setting up bets on the dart match between Chan and Fable*

If you were around the last time I tossed darts, you would have probably run for cover. Trust your instincts.

I'll try the Redbank--thanks; never had it before. The darts sound good, too. Good to see you, Chanak. I take it life's not treating you too handily at the moment. The aspirins and the lightning bolts flashing behind your eyelids are a dead giveaway.

@Chan,
Indeed, no pub of mine would be complete without some good high-powered roasts. There is even tea for those inclined that way
*personally, pours self a shot of Buffalo Trace Bourbon*
Hmm... Did I tell you that the dart board is located near one of the flame throwing dragon statues? And the bar is located a safe distance from both, so I should, at least, have a fighting chance
*Pours Fable a glass of Redbank* It's nice stuff, we just tried it for my partner's birthday the other night, nice and spicy with lots of fruit, full bodied, lingering tail.

The day I set foot in Austin, my body rebelled. I've never suffered from allergies and such throbbing sinuses in my entire life until I moved here. However, I am not alone. Most of the people I work with get hit pretty hard by the various pollens and molds Austin is famous for. Ach, the winter is no refuge.
Nice to see you too, by the way. My condolences for the snow. I can't really say that I miss it very much. Darts it is. Now, you might want to put at least ten feet between us as I toss the darts...they have a tendency to richocet...

Ricochet? From cork? Is there something about experiments performed on you while you were in the service that you haven't told us, Chanak?
As for Austin, my condolescences. Still, NJ is considered among the worst places for allergy sufferers, and I don't recall Texas being anywhere nearly as bad, for me.

Thanks, DW. Nice place you have here. Would you by chance have a crocodile pit?
@Fable: Indeed. The fact is, darts do not ricochet off of cork. Darts will, however, ricochet off of wood, or stone. You see, one must actually hit the dartboard to avoid this. I, however, can't seem to hit the bloody dartboard....

Sorry about the snow, Fable! We've been really lucky not to have too much this year...it's quite peculair! I actually miss it.
Wait, DW, is the name of this thread implying that the inn smells like someone who has AWEFUL breath? Perhaps a chloroseptic could help you out? Chanak's turning bottle corks into lethal weapons! Is nothing sacred???

Okay, just for you, I'll set up a crocodile pit in one of the side sections

I only thought somebody might gather that interpretation *after* I had already posted it. Actually, though, the dragon's breath refers to the fiery smoke periodically belching from the dragon statues
EDIT
Ah...well there *is* a dungeon in the basement, so Fas and BS are quite welcome to play down there should they wish
