The Big One- Ohio St. vs. Michigan

This is it. Ohio State vs. Michigan. OSU is playing for the National Championship. Michingan, for nothing. Who's going to win.

Michingan has been beating Ohio St. for the past few years, even though Ohio St. was the better team in BCS rankings.

Ohio St.s won some close games, but they pull it off. Their star is out, although he may play. I'm not sure, will check ESPN in a few minutes. Even with Clarett out, Ohio St. 's been winning.

So who is going to win? Exercise your voting ability.

Ohio St. vs. Michigan

OSU all the way, baby!

I am cheering for the bucks, but I almost wish they would lose, because I've noticed the fans around where I live are really rude about the whole thing, and i find it obnoxious.

Well there are three teams in college that I absolutely despise. I hate them as much as the Yankees...and that coming from a Red Sox fan means a lot...Those three teams are Nebraska, Michigan, and Ohio State...

So Im going to hate the winner of this game regardless. But since OSU is going for a National Championship, I am really REALLY hoping Michigan wins....but its at OSU and OSU has the momentum so they should win. Worst undefeated team ever.

If I remember correctly...didnt some team called the Patriots or something win some big game last year....I think it was called the superbowl....Ill have to check on that.

Well besides that, I am noted for going for the underdog, and when I got involved in College football, those were the 3 most prominent winning teams at the time. Never ever like to see them succeed.

The teams that Id like to succeed in college football, well thats a very long list, so just pick any underdogs in there, mix in BC, Michigan State, and Oregon and those are the teams I always go for.

Ohio State won, Ohio STate won!!!! SDg - Hahhahah this is amazing. Better than winning championship
michingan lost. great great great, i'm out of breath.

it was amazing. 7 seconds left, wolves ~ 20 yard Ohio St. line. Throw into the endzone- but overthrown. 1 second, 1 second left, 1 second. I'm going pale, hard of breathing. Seriously I was going to faint. Throws but intercepted. ITs over, ohio st. won.

Hahahahah, i should have made a bet about this game. this is so sweet, time to make fun of all my friends, they're mostly michigan fans.

crap, i'm out of breath.

Bah. I hope Miami pulls a 70 spot on them in the Natl Championship. Or better yet, Oklahoma beats um to a pulp in the Natl Championship if Miami loses to SYR or VT. I hope OSU gets handed a smackdown in the biggest blowout of College football bowl games.

Im so disappointed.

The only problem with OSU winning and getting for a bid for the national championship is the game will be a joke. The Hurricanes will walk all over the buckeyes. It's funny they should go when they're not even the best team in their conference. Pity they didn't get to play the hawkeyes. Iowa simply would have been a better match for the 'canes. All I care about is seeing a good game. I'm a Wisconsin fan and a big10 fan. Putting the buckeyes against miami is only going to embarass the conference.

I agree to the extent that it might be closer then you think. I imagine Miami has the power to beat them, but what happens if they think they can waltz in and get another Nat'l Champ? OSU could capitalize. But your original statement brings up a question. I mean Iowa is much better then the Buckeyes, obviously. But it brings up the question: should all devisions have a championship game to see whos the best in the division? SEC, Big XII, and MAC do it (because theyre big) but it seems like its really a good deciding factor. Would it be good to implement this into all the other divisions?

I absolutely agree with you.

And as far as the BCS and all the bowls....well....Im in favor of it. When looking at it, I think the teams deserving of the Sears trophy get it. And all those bowls....I dunno why, but that week is one of my favorite weeks of the year, along with the Daytona Speedweeks. I just find bowls very exciting and interesting as it pits two teams from two very different conferences in a seemingly even matchup. Many games are among the best games youll see all season in either college or the pros.

Now as far as the Nat'l Championship, I think there should be a 4 team playoff. The four best teams face off for 2 bowls. The 2 winners play in the Nat'l Championship, and the 2 losers play in a big bowl, but does not decide the National Championship....sort of a mini playoff.

I disagree with the playoffs system. 4 teams is too small a bracket and too many teams would require players to play twice or three times a week (i.e. not possible).

I'd rather see the BCS vanquished. It has ruined the bowl experience not to mention there's too damn many of them. but then, it's all about the money. I can't envision the Rose Bowl being anything other than big10 vs pac10 champion but that's not the case anymore. I disapprove of there being a national championship game because it is a biased voting system which puts the two teams there in the first place. I could go on and on, it's all circular and college football has long been the most scrutnized system in american sports. It doesn't work, hasn't worked, and cannot work to everyone's advantage. Period. There will always be someone who feels certain teams are slighted by the system whatever the parameters of that system are.

Bottom line is: Miami is the best team in the nation, bar none. I'd say Oklahoma is a bit behind Miami. Iowa, Washington St., and Georgia can pick for the scraps. Oh, did I forget to mention the buckeyes.

Well I wouldnt say that the playoff system had to be quick. Maybe play the games over the course of a couple weeks. I dunno. Theres an answer out there somewhere, where all the bowls are played, the playoff system is established, and more people are pleased.

Too many bowls? Nah. I wouldnt mind seeing one or two more, but thats it. I mean we cant be having too many losing teams in the bowls. I just think its a great oppurtunity to see more teams you dont usually get to see like Marshall, Bowling Green, Hawaii, any team on the Western Coast, and so on and so forth...And again, they often yield some classic games...like ECU vs Marshall last year. That 63-61 game was increadible.

"If Miami were to play all the teams in the top 5, they would go 4-0. If Ohio State were to play all the teams in the top 5, they would go 0-4" -Trev Alberts

I agree with him there. OSU, though undefeated is a lowsy #2 team. I mean if they are such an underdog, why are they that high in the seeding system? I mean BGSU was undefeated for a while but you needed a telescope to see their seed. Why is OSU any different. Yeah. Yeah. Theyre in a big division, but who cares? They played the worst teams in that division, and who were their out of division opponents? SJSU. CIN. Thats a real strong schedule (I know they played Wassou, but Wassou wasnt on top of their game at that time) I think OSU played 2 tough teams, an over rated Michigan and Penn State. Both at home. But the fact is, if the teams that are seeded below them could beat them easily, the experts say, why are they not ranked higher? Isnt that what the seeding is saying? The higher the seed, the tougher the team is to beat. Or do I sound stupid?

Trev Alberts said that? Kind of exaggerated if you ask me. I don't think OSU is the best in the big ten but they're still damn good...top 7 perhaps, top 3 with a tougher schedule.

I watched five OSU games this year. They were all against big10 opponents. They came into wisconsin and shut'em down, I mean shut'em down. The Michigan game was good, and the others were against garbage opponents, like when a 6-0 Minnesota golden gophers team ranked 24th in the nation showed up at the horseshoe and got walloped. Most of the buckeyes opps were garbage but they're still tough to score on; maybe even the best defense in the nation (however, unchallenged). I think teams in the Pac10 would eat'em up. Teams based on speed running a spread offense using quick slants, outs, and PA to set up big draws and deep post patterns. I doubt the buckeyes could keep up.

I don't know if I even addressed your question but this post is long enough.

Yeah. Later Trev Alberts said that you should give them credit anyway, though. They faced their opponents and found a way to win. He said that after the Purdue game, I think.

Cincinnati should have beat them. Bottom line. I dont know how Cincinnati lost that game....to this day I dont know.

But OSU did play WSU, the leading Pac 10 team....but I understand what youre getting at. The more explosive offenses there, right? Like ASU, Oregon State, Oregon, USC.

Its all good.
