| | | The Arcane Library of Spam Oke, as a starting post I will ask that people please do not post here.
If you wish to comment on my Library, please do so in the Succeeder Stronghold or make a discussion thread/PM me asking me to make a discussion thread.
One of the points of my Library will be to make SYM easier to understand, listing past jokes, creepy moments, and suchlike.
I will also build profiles on SYMians based on their past posts, showing their gory and glory moments, so that people can understand them better.
This will be an ongoing project, and may take some time. Certainly it will never be finished, but it's the fun that matters, right?

| I suggest you obtain permission before doing this. Some people might not appreciate it.

Basically, because if you weren't around for some of these moments, the context won't be quite the same for you.
Unless of, course, you are more familiar with SYM than you've actually indicated.......
As far as asking permission goes, I certainly hope you would do so.

| | | With eery reply you people are wrecking my thread more and more.
Why can't you respect that I don't want replies from others so it's easy to navigate?
I've already asked to be PMed about the thread as an alternative to replying. *Sighs* |

| | | You'd think that when someone offers to read through over 7000 threads and sort them out and make a history that people would be more grateful.
As it stands you people have hardly been welcoming to me when I started posting, and certainly not been very kind towards me.
I hae been putting up with crap from people for years, I don't want to take it from people in my own time where I want to be.
If you people can't just be kind, don't expect me to be. If you hurl loads of insults at me I will attack back in full force. |

Edit - there's PMs for Lestatty and for Dammy, I expect answers.

| | Sorry for posting in this thread, but I find absolutely nothing wrong with Damuna Nova's idea and I also find Luis and DW:s comments hostile towards new members and highly in-group defensive. If Damuna wants to spend time digging for old threads and profiling users based on their posts, why not? Why would it be a less valuable thread that all the other 1000 threads that are based on reflecting on ourselves and other SYM users? On the contrary, it would be more fun if a relatively new user made up such profiles rather than an old user who are still stuck in "good old days" illusions, still repeat the same old fish-slapping and pantless marines-jokes or is influenced by all the stereotypes that quickly appear in all human groups. If you don't want people to read it, you should not post. If you want copyright or other limitations on your material, you must specify this. I see no reason why anyone should ask permission to link to posts that people have choosen to post on an open public internet forum.

Thank you, you have shown me that not all SYMians are so illogical.
I was merely setting up my base here so I already had a thread to post in, I can't really save things on my PC seeing as it has hardly any space left. |

I've provided links (including the ones Juniper suggested I believe) by PM so, I wouldn't be contributing to the thread which he didn't want. And of course, now I am...though I don't see what the problem is. It's always valuable to see a different viewpoint...
On the other side of the coin, why shouldn't old members be allowed to contribute? They could provide valuable insights to the topics Damuna digs up. Especially if people keep broadly to that topic then referred to. My suggestion is to link important posts to the first post via URLs much like I did in the SF and how Magrus has in his college thread. This provides easy navigation and readers with the option to skip to items that interest them...
Not my thread though, so whatever...
IMO that might be easier to read through than one giant piece of unbroken text if done properly. Quote: |
