I'd usually add some funny punch-line, but the fact that this site exists is a punch-line in itself

After going to the site..I feel like Karl Marx or Lenin has risen from the grave.

(I wouldn't call it a terrorist cola..a Anti France or Anti West cola maybe. From looking thru the site, the man who started the company doesn't (IMHO) have a high opinion of some in France or for that matter the US.)

*Waits for Homeland Secruity to break down door because I went to the site*

This stuff has been around for a while. IIRC it was launched not long after the US invasion of Afghanistan, the idea being that Muslims should support a local product rather than imports from the US.
No sillier than "Freedom Fries" IMO.

Ironically it has cut into the sales of pepsi and coke drastically. In Pakistan you cant get coke or pepsi any more. Its all Mecca Cola. Its taken by storm among the muslim population and i happen to buy it on a regular basis. Personally think it tastes better than coke.

Any plans for exports to the EU? I have long been looking for a replacement of the conventional cola's available here, since I find them a bit hard to swallow. Some of the corporate practices I have seen by CC or Pepsico in the third world have resulted in me not finding their products to be "a pleasant and relaxing drink" any more. To give just one recent example; when I visited the Pearl TV tower in Shanghai little over a week ago, there was an event sponsored by CC taking place. Wanting something other to drink, I went outside the area looking for a water salesman, only to find the guards of the place clearing the streets around the tower from the regular unfortunate sales force of persons selling drinks from ice boxes on their bellies. I had to walk about a kilometer to find one.

It is actually based out of france. You can buy it there and here in Geneva at any of the muslim stores. You can actually buy it anywhere in switzerland where ever they have a muslim halal store. So i bet tehre are a few in Sweden. Just find out where it is and ask them if they have Mecca cola. If they dont ask where you can find it. They are usually very helpful.

Yeah, I remember reading about this about 2 years ago in school. The idea was to create an alternative to the American drinks (which I can wholeheartedly agree with).
